Tookie's "meaningful martyrdom" to be "embraced"?

Over at the liberal end of the spectrum, The Huffington Post's Tom Hayden had this to say about the convicted, executed murderer Tookie Williams in his posting, Tookie, RIP (Revolution In Progress):

Scattering thoughts, as in scattering ashes...

Tookie Williams went to his death with all the dignity and serenity that is possible in an execution process that is meant to terrify and degrade. There are many possible reasons for his inner strength. To deny his tormenters any satisfaction could be one. But I think he believed that if he had to die, it was a meaningful martyrdom that sent a lasting message to the world.

His legend and his life lessons will continue to be studied, debated, embraced. His courage will be remembered. History may well absolve him.

OK, so Tookie kills innocent people in cold blood, laughs about it, starts a criminal gang that becomes one of the most deadly in the country, never accepts responsibility for the murders he was repeatedly found guilty of over 24 years worth of unsuccessful appeals, and, right to the moment of his death, is indignant and without a shred of remorse.

So, because of this he is to be "embraced" for "meaningful martyrdom", his "courage to be remembered", and eventually will "be absolved by history" for his "legend and life lessons"?

The left sure does know how to pick their heroes, huh?

don't forget to wash your eyes out with soap, j.b. not a complete cleansing w/o doing that. you want to get a good look at that new son of yours, dontcha? he would probably not want you looking at him with clouded eyes (except for tears of joy). now buck up and get with it.

as far as tookie's martyrdom goes, welllllllll, while i believe in dying for my beliefs - i have not murdered four people in cold blood, bragged about it, become unrepentant and bitter to the end. i prayed he would know his maker before his demise. his actions show he did not. now i fear for his soul.

he was responsible for the breeding of many more "little" tookies and i find that repulsive. he was no one i would want my children to look up to. however, i teach them and believe we should look down on no one also.

it is difficult enough to maintain moral balance in a sick and wounded world without taking up the cause of a distorted human being.

He's a big hero to the black racist majority.
Killing a whitey and 2 asians is a badge of honor in today's black culture, and as long as black racist institutions exist within our very own CONGRESS, and we countenance racist TV in the MSM (i.e. BET and TV1) we can count on more plastic heros from death row.

As for Tom Hayden, he should have been shot for treason or at least deported to North Korea 30yrs ago (alog with his dingbat girlfriend and Kerry).
I'd prefer the former.

i have just come from the twifreakin' zone - never seen anything like it in my life. was posting at fpm - as usual - i had a couple of stalkers on my tail, who being the sweet lady i am, tried to ignore. well, i must have done a pretty good job of it because roberta came in a cleaned house - right before my very eyes 3/4 of the thread disappeared. seems it's just mike and i as the goodposters are the only ones left. but the bad news is there are still a few very bad moonbats left.

she came in midway through and gave us what for and then left. some of the best have now been banned. so, kuhnkat, don't feel so bad.

i must say in light of this, we all have a great moderator in madze. thank you madze.

e-m kuhnkat and he'll give you instructions on how to get back on - really quite easy, tazz.

no that's not how it works - i believe they retire your moniker, that is why you must go in decorated or with a new one. i've seen a couple who've gotten theirs back, but only after much pleading with the one called roberta.
