Somebody, anybody, please nuke Hollywood

OK, first we have Tookie the mass murderer gangsta being championed by the celebrity left, then we have Speilberg releasing his miserably self-loathing, anti-Israel flick, "Munich", to the delight of terrorists everywhere, and now this:

TRENTON, N.J. (Dec. 21) - Ethan Hawke has asked New Jersey's acting governor to grant clemency to a 65-year-old woman who has been in prison for more than 16 years for murdering her police officer-boyfriend.

The 35-year-old actor said in an e-mail Tuesday that his mother knows Melvina McClain, who is serving a 30-year-old sentence for shooting Detective Louis Glenn in a bar in 1986, and that she "believes in her entirely."

Hawke, who grew up in West Windsor, released a letter he sent Monday to acting Gov. Richard J. Codey. A spokesman for the acting governor said Codey couldn't comment until the letter had been received.

In the letter, Hawke asked that McClain's sentence be commuted "so she can live the last years of her life helping her children, her grandchildren and many others learn from her example of redemption."

Hawke's mother, Leslie Hawke, befriended McClain when she took a year off from her job as a publishing executive to teach at a Trenton parochial school.

An entry in a student journal had "all this stuff in there about her mother murdering her boyfriend and I thought, `This kid has an imagination,"' Leslie Hawke said in an interview Tuesday. "But it turned out to be true."

Last week, Hawke visited McClain at a Clinton correctional facility. The visit prompted her son to write to Codey.

The request for clemency has the backing of the state Office of the Public Defender, which filed a clemency petition in June with the State Parole Board.

The petition claims McClain suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, stemming from a lifetime of psychological and physical abuse, including more than 400 beatings before she was 18.

The left has never met a murderer they didn't like, did they? I'm sure killing a male cop earns you double points in liberal country. Oh, and remember, Melvina had a difficult childhood.

'Those who the gods destroy they first make mad' That is what is happening in Hollywood. The movie industry is already moving out of LA and they liberal madness will accelerate this trend. The 'chuzpuh' to comment on a criminal case is just shocking.

I wonder why I didnt see these shitwits rushing to McVeigh's defense.
Ok..no I dont.

I wont wait to see them try and get parole for the guy that iced an infant exterminator (I think his name was Silva maybe?).

Ah but lets make a sympathetic dyke movie about a serial killing whore and pass out awards to the actors for it!

It's hard to believe there's actually a market for the swill they produce these days and it's sad to see how many people base their opinions on it.

It's more than chutzpah - it's bare naked, rarefied, hubris.

Glad I dont know em.

face it people, hollywood is but a poop stain on the underwear of society. support them as little as possible. our biggest problem is we "must see" as soon as a movie comes out. we are an instant gratification society.

what ever happened to "good things coming to those who wait"? well, if you wait a couple of months, you can get anything they put out for a dollar or less at a yard sale.

they have more dollars than sense and we should quit supporting them. perhaps if we brought them down a notch or two, they would take notice.

another thing, americans spend approximately $43 billion on pet care each year. that is enough to feed every starving person in the world. who do you think spends that kind of money on pets? hollywood!

sure they need to be hit - but where it hurts the most - in their wallets. i tell you, it would do me no good to have scads of money because no one would go hungry, but me.

i'm guilty also. sometimes a movie comes out our children want and it's cheaper to buy retail than take a family of four to a theater.

well, kuhnkat - we let our secular satellite go almost three years ago and got skyangel - which cannot be had on the left coast unless you live at 10,000 feet elevation and it's only $129/yearly and they have fox news. it's all faith based programming except for fox, hgtv, hallmark and hallmark movie channel. we love it. hey, i ought to do an infomercial for them!
