"New Martyrs City"

Yassir Sharon might not want to put this in his election campaign ads, but, since the brutal August expulsion of the Jews from Gaza, the city of Neve Dekalim, the former capital of Jewish Gaza, has been converted into a full blown Hamas terror center. From this "New Martyrs City", which is zoned off with barbed wire and marked as a "closed military zone", Qassam rockets have regularly been fired into nearby Israeli Negev towns.

Talk about a plan gone wrong, eh Yassir? Wasn't this "disengagement" supposed to make Israelis safer? Wasn't this "good will gesture" to the moslems supposed to lead to improved relations with the PA? Wasn't it you who told us Mahmoud Abbas would be a real partner in peace, and didn't you promise us that he, unlike Arafat before, would really crack down on "Palestinian" terrorism?

Hold on there, "Arik", didn't the opposition to your expulsion warn us that retreating from the moslems would only lead to the creation of a terrorist state in Gaza? Isn't that exactly what has happened? Worse still, the open Gaza border you and Condi conceded to the PA assures us the islamic terror leaders will be fully stocked with unlimited rockets, ammunition and fire arms to kill Jews with. Are you proud of yourself now, Yassir?

Congratulations, Mr. Sharon, you have done more to harm Israel and the Jews than Yassir Arafat ever dreamed possible. Your legacy and his will be virtually indistinguishable.

As an American Jewish woman I take great offense at your characterizing Ariel Sharon as "Yassir" Sharon. By moving to the left and forming a union with the Labor Party, Sharon proved to be a reasonable centrist who will make the tough decisions for peace with the Palestinians.

I was a big critic of Sharon when he turned a blind eye in Lebanon to the Christian slaughter of innocent Muslim women and children. I also spoke out against him when he advanced the illegal, immoral Settler movement that only enflamed the Arab street against Israel.

Of course, let's also remember when he disrespected the Palestinians by going to the Temple Mount at Al Aqsa without their blessing he showed tremendous insensitivity to the Muslims and helped spark the latest intifada.

But, that said, he learned from his mistakes and became a man devoted to all humanity, not just radical Jews on the right. I am sad to see early elections because I think he has much more left he's willing to do for peace, but that all could be put in jeapardy if a right wing extremist government comes in and tries to undo all the good he's done.

The terrorism in Gaza is unfortunate, yes, but we must be patient. The Muslims have hard feelings still over the Israeli occupation and the withdrawal was only the beginning of making things right with them. We must not apologize for terrorism, but we certainly should offer compassion and understanding to the anger they feel.

Dana, are you realy a Jew, or are you just a moslem posing as a Jew to add legitimacy for your argument? Your one-sided debate against the Jews in defense of the Palestinians makes your claim of being "an American Jew" highly dubious.

Tell me the truth, dear.

Why is it that if a Jew defends the rights of the Palestinians they must be really Muslims in disguise? I am offended by tht allegation. I am proud of my Jewsish heritage, but I am a human being first, and when I see the Muslims being abused I will defend them, even if it's Israel who's performing the wrongdoing.

That doesn't mean I'm not a Jew...in fact, I think it makes me a better Jew. since when does being Jewish give us the right to harm Muslims? They are people, too.

And Kuhnkat, I do not at all think Yassir Arafat was a great man. He was deeply flawed and didn't do enough to prevent terrorism, but Israel didn't help matters by imprisoning him in his compound rather than engaging in dialogue. Also, Arafat was a very proud man, so when Sharon stomped all over Al Aqsa he made things worse than they should have been.

Arafat was no saint, but probably not as evil as the Right makes him out to be, either.

Israel needs to get over the "Jewish Supremecy" attitude and start thinking of things in egalitarian terms...then we might have a real chance for peace.

Self-loathing Dana cries: Why is it that if a Jew defends the rights of the Palestinians they must be really Muslims in disguise?

Well, Dana, I'll grant you the possibility that you are a indeed a horrifically self-loathing Jew instead.

Self-loathing Dana sobs: I am proud of my Jewsish heritage, but I am a human being first, and when I see the Muslims being abused I will defend them, even if it's Israel who's performing the wrongdoing.

So, self-loathing one, you feel that the Jews stubborn refusal to let the moslems kill them is a form of abuse? What the hell are you talking about?

Self-loathing Dana babbles on: That doesn't mean I'm not a Jew...in fact, I think it makes me a better Jew.

Since when does hating yourself and supporting your enemy make you a good Jew?

Self-loathing Dana mindlessly drones: Arafat was no saint, but probably not as evil as the Right makes him out to be, either.

Self-loathing Dana inanely blathers: Israel needs to get over the "Jewish Supremecy" attitude and start thinking of things in egalitarian terms...then we might have a real chance for peace.

Yes, just like France!

And, finally, Self-loathing Dana Moonbats this true feminist drivel: Oh, and one more thing MZ, I'm not your "dear".

Sorry about that, Sweet Cheeks.

In other words, if a few thousand Jews oppress a few million Muslims you don't have problems with that? I bet if the situation was reversed you would, hypocrites.

Jews and Muslims need to share and let each other live in peace, but how do you expect that to happenm when one has all the money, resources and priviledge, while the other is stuck in poverty and hopelessness?

Get a life, you animals!

Dana, don't tell me let me guess: you're a colege student. Been doing all the required reading from your Middle East Studies Dept. Active in campus politics, and attended at least one antiwar march.

Pretty accurate, aren't I Sweet Cheeks?

A JINO (like dana) is not a Jew.
It is a warped facsimile.
A veneer over a common willing serf (or dhimmi if you will) that only fools the foolish.

To carry the genes of God's chosen people means nothing when you betray them.

Beyond that, I would say that dana indeed sounds like an oblivious college kid that badly needs to study the ACTUAL history of Islam and the Levant - not the leftwing revisionist horsecrap being fed to her at school.

that's all fine and dandy, rwm, but people like dana do not listen all that well. has to do with a log in their ear or something like that. what is our greatest beeawch here? people do not want to know the truth - they are quite oblivious in their lies - if you say it loud enough and long enough it becomes truth. but i do know some lefties are coming around and actually admitting it - so all is not lost - it's the other 99.99% i'm concerned with!

Dana,

You said "...since when does being Jewish give us the right to harm Muslims?"

You are absolutely right, no one has a right to harm Muslims (or Jews), however, self-defense is a right. Your defamation of Israel is reprehensible.

Even you said, "The terrorism in Gaza is unfortunate"… Many Jews went from fighting the Nazis in Eastern Europe to fighting the Islamists in Israel. If it wasn't for their efforts there wouldn’t be a single Jew left alive in Palestine and Israel. They have fought honorably. The Arabs armies and Palestinian terrorists have fought like medieval barbarians. When will the Palestinians finally accept just one of the many peace offers made by Israel.

You worry about inflaming Arabs, but show no concern for Arabs inflaming tension with Israel. Otherwise you would condemn the unprovoked Intifada. Sharon’s visit to the Temple Mount is not a justification for war. War should only be fought for self defense or the defense of others.

Then you say, “Jews and Muslims need to share and let each other live in peace, but how do you expect that to happen when one has all the money, resources and privilege, while the other is stuck in poverty and hopelessness?”

What are you insinuating? That the Jews are stealing money from the Palestinians? How can you help a group of people when they come to your country under false pretenses, dressed in civilian attire with the aim of killing innocent people? If you can’t trust people you can’t help them. This lack of trust is not unwarranted. It existed long before the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza strip, since 1920. Palestinian terrorists try to create suffering for both the Jews and their own people. They thrive in a climate of fear and create their own oppression. It enhances the hatred and brings support from western liberals. Its sick.

And Dana, do you know, the Jews are so bloodthirsty that they take all the failed sui-boms and ..... just lock them up (forever, I hope)!!!!!! No head-hacking, limb-amputating, eyes-blinding ... just plain boring lock-'em-up. Can't get more oppressive than that.

Yah, them Jews always done it and will continue doing it.

Anybody who remembers the address of that there new-fangled SF organization (VHEM or some such) please give it to Dana.
