Israeli leaders: Evangelicals are better than liberals

Sorry liberals, you're not Israel's best friends anymore - not by a longshot. In a report in J-Post today, Israeli leaders like Bibi Netanyahu and Benny Elon, speaking at the Knesset's Christian Allies Caucus, sang the praises of the Evangelical Right for all the support they've given the Jewish State. Meanwhile, liberal activists, who loathe the Religious Right with every fiber of their being, were left out in the cold having a collective hissy fit at the prospect of this growing alliance gaining momentum.

Said Netanyahu, "The greatest support Israel has today is in the United States. And the greatest support Israel has in the US, besides the Jewish community, is that of Evangelical Christians." Bibi went on to add, "These people [Evangelicals] support us not because of a shared ethnic identity, but because of a broader partnership based on values."

MZ's favorite Israeli leader, former tourism minister Benny Elon, who believes transferring the Palestinians out of Israel (yes, that means Judea, Samaria and Gaza) and into Jordan is the only way to achieve peace, had this to say: "We did not succeed in Israel yet to understand the power the Evangelicals have politically in America."

Elon is head of the National Union party in Israel, which stands to gain substantial political power in the next elections in the wake of Yassir Sharon's ill-fated, cowardly Gaza expulsion. As the former tourism minister, he was also at the forefront of Israel's campaign over the last several years to team up with Evangelical Christian supporters around the world.

I can almost hear the sound of self-loathing Jews fainting! Oh the horror! Christian conservatives now are Israel's FRIEND!?

Get used to it, leftists. Your compassion for the 'Palestinian' terrorists, coupled with your hatred for the innocent Jewish settlers who were expelled from Gaza and northern Samaria, indeed makes you a very poor friend of Israel these days.

people are just recently realizing that if the G-d of israel does not keep His promises to israel - He will not keep His promises to gentile believers. He would then be considered a liar - however, there are Christian denoms who have thrown the baby (israel) out with the bathwater - these are not true Christians.

one can gain volumes by asking their pastor, preacher, or priest where their church stands as far as israel is concerned - i would rather be in a church with five other people on fire for israel than a church of 10,000 who have never heard of her.

i am a Christian rearing zionists. we keep psalms 122:6, and believe the G-d of israel when he spoke genesis 12:3. i do not wish to be cursed and so far so good.

not being a braggart, we support israel more monetarily than we do our home church. there are many ways to do this - but before supporting any organization, i suggest checking out charity navigator or any number of others who keep track of where your money goes. am i bloviating? morning all.

You were most certainly NOT bloviating. I always appreciate your comments, nanc.

my dear sweet husband always says, "if you could only hear yourself babbling...brooke!" we have many of those between us - it is like comedy central around here - the children have inherited it also. praise be to G-d! it is far better than tears.

The Religious Right are friends of the Jews? LOL!! Please, they are the closest thing this country has to a Nazi party.

Evangelists are only playing nice with the Jews and Israel for the time being because they all believe Jesus will resurect and kill all the Jews whenever biblical Israel becomes whole again.

Give me a break.

That's funny, I've never seen any of these Evangelical Nazis you speak of. They must be too busy giving money in support of Israel to demonstrate their love of Adolph Hitler.

What I do see a lot of is the Leftist pals of yours marching in support of Jihadis who wish to wipe Israel off the map and throw the Jews into the sea.

Lefty,

What you have is preconceived notions of Christianity that don’t have much relevance in the real world. It sounds nice in your propaganda circles, but it’s grossly exaggerated at best. To suggest that the religious right is the closest thing to Nazism is an outright lie. There are real Nazis in this country like the Aryan Nations and the White Aryan Resistance. There is also the Ku Klux Klan and many other racist organizations. All of whom resemble or embrace Nazi values while the Christian right does not.

The Christian religious right is very mainstream in much of the US and has no racist ideology at all. Hate speech against Jews or Blacks is absolutely forbidden in their organizations.

They do object to abortion, homosexuality and euthanasia. That does not make them racist or Nazis. I am an atheist and I disagree with Christians on all three points, but I would never be so crude to make such a baseless accusation as you did.

my, my, my, should i feel slighted by a wounded moonbat? nahhhhh! one thing that makes me laugh louder than anything is the self-inflicted ignorance of the far left. who on earth could give us more and better, up-to-date entertainment?

hmmm, playing nice with jews - that's a good one. i play nice with anyone who plays nice with me - i had no idea it was because i am an evangelical - go figure!

p.s. hey madze - how about a nice jewish boy like you come out and play nice with a despicable Christian evangelical like me? lol!!!

Nanc, seeing how "Left is Right" tells me you plan to have Jesus kill us Jews after you've rounded us up, I'm a bit hesitant.

You're right Michael. He is also a cowardly troll, as he hits and runs without attempting to defend his positions. Probably just as well, since his positions are so indefensible.

There is another ally of Israel seldom mentioned.
It is the conservative Catholic movement in the US.
That is to say, Catholics that are fed up with perverts in the clergy, misinterpretation of Vatican II, heretical union slugs voting for the left to keep their subsidies, "dissenting" (false) Catholics that push for everything from infanticide to female priests, and of course the culturally winked at anti-Catholic bigotry that permeates society.

We are most visible at The Catholic League and EWTN, but outside of that we are nearly invisible.

Despite this, we are many, and we fully support Israel and oppose Islamocommies (and any other form of commie for that matter).

I guess ya might call us Neocatholicons lol.

As for leftisright, he apparently hasnt chked the DNC's platforms lately.
They are identical with one exception: they blame whitey for everything instead of Jews (though they're starting to include Jews too).
Seems a natural tendency for the left and their willing serfs.

Many secular Jews associate Christianity with the Inquisition. This is a very inaccurate picture of American Evangelicals.

Bob,

Secular Jews are making terrible ideological mistakes across the board, unfortunately.
