Moslems say yes to Hamas

Almost 50% of the moslems in Judea & Samaria, who, as we know, are the object of overwhelming sympathy from liberals who claim these vermin are really snuggly, lovable, innocent lambs being cruelly persecuted by the Jews, have just voted for the terrorist organization of Hamas to lead them politically.

The rest voted for the Fatah party, which is the political wing of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade terrorist organization.
YNet News - An exit poll conducted by Bir Zeit University shows ruling Fatah leading the vote by securing 63 parliamentary seats as opposed to 58 for rival Hamas. The poll showed the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine winning 2 seats. (Ali Waked)
I'm finding myself becoming more and more ambivalent towards the liberal State of Israel. Watching the leftist majority seek to wipe out religious Jews from the Land is making me wonder if it's worth having modern Israel exist at all.

Perhaps the Hareidi were right all along. Maybe the Jews indeed will not be ready to ascend to the Land until after the coming of Moshiach. I hope the religious Zionists can somehow overcome the self-loathing Jews who seek to eradicate them from the face of the earth. Only God knows the answers at this point.

It's true. How do you stop a suicidal country?

MZ and others: Actually, it was and is insanity to put all the Jewish eggs in one convenient basket a.k.a. Israel for the egg-haters to break, so to speak. It is too late now, I suppose, but way back when Jews like Golda Meir (God bless her!) existed, they should have planned for and actually implemented a Jewish expansion to other countries which were possible allies (India is a prime example) and even into space (whoever controls space controls the world - Iran's threats would be immaterial to what could be done from space - instead it is China who is probably going to play that role).

No surprise there, now that Arafat is gone they want more terrorism...

Maybe this will finally be the wake up call that Israel needs. The government can't possibly continue to delude itself any more than they already have.

Shalom-

O Surfer, if only it were so!

The abysmal condition of the GOI defies description, but I would not at all put it past these wretches (as well as their suicidal supporters) to continue to self-delude.

We are speaking, after all, of a regime currently headed by a man who has publicly stated his willingness to unleash the full force of the Tzahal on, wait for it, not the sworn genocidal enemies of the state, but the religious Jews.

My stomach is churning, and my heart breakng, if I may indulge in some tired physical cliches.

It seems as though I will be packing up my life in America to go and stand with what I believe is righteous. I don't know what the solution is, but I will be there praying, guarding, growing things, and working to the best of my ability to protect what is most precious and holy.

If you can go, too, then do.

Am Yisrael Chai!

I agree with Solidsurfer. The Hamas victory will finally teach Israel that they have no one to deal with. It will also give the Palis a taste of living under Islamic rule. They may not like it.When is the next election?

Shalom - todah, all, for the nice wishes above! I feel totally blessed that my life can now go in the direction (literally) that I want.

I feel totally not blessed that the Arabs, even having freely voted for a war of extermination against Israel and Jews, are still being lit up in the MSM as "partners for peace".

Absurd. Awful. And on Yom HaShoah. Gross.

G-d keep us all, Kol Tuv

RWM: When I was talking about Jews expanding to other countries, I didn't mean expansion of the "we-will-wear-our-yarmulkes-and-stay-quiet-while-you-build-the-gas-chambers" variety. What I had in mind was a more muscular version where anyone who started anything anti-semitic would be given strong discouragement. And is it not time Israel expands to the stars? The Jews are the smartest humans (at least the Conservative ones) after all. Another alternative would have been to invent a substitute for oil and aggressively sell it to the third world countries esp. China. Again, JATSH (Jews are the etc.) ... just imagine the aftermath of a world free of oil. FYI, this is not fantasy - Jerry Pournelle and others, very respected space scientists estimate that if an amount equal to what is spent on cosmetics in US in a decade is allocated, all of mankinds metal and energy requirements can be satisfied from space (for free, even! But I would advocate charging for the stuff, if only because humanity is an ungrateful lot) for the foreseeable future (a.k.a. forever). You can take a look at Jerry Pournelle's website (www.jerrypournelle.com) and see how NASA is wasting billions and deliberately holding up progress. The quote I gave was from a Pournelle article I read somewhere else i.e. not on his website (or maybe it is in the archives), but he more or less says the same thing in other terms in other articles there.

RWM: Like you, I would much prefer Israel to be strong and expand in the directions you suggested, but I despair of the Leftist Jews who have taken over everything and will soon deliver Israel and the people in it, bound and gagged, to their mortal enemies. IMHO, conservative Jews should think of setting up enclaves outside Israel, as right now the Knesset seems hell-bent on destroying them and their country. Also, if oil was no longer needed, Israel's enemies would run out of money, a crucial ingredient to wage war. Of course they would steal the technology to make the alternative energy, but who would buy it from them? Their monopoly would be broken forever. As long as we are dependent on oil, this suicidal PC-madness will continue all over the world.

6PO,

When are you leaving for Israel? Where will you be living? Send me an email with your info if don't mind, as I'd like to know more about your aliyah.
