TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Jan. 6) - The Florida Supreme Court struck down a statewide voucher system Thursday that allowed children to attend private schools at taxpayer expense - a program Gov. Jeb Bush considered one of his proudest achievements. It was the nation's first statewide voucher program.
In a 5-2 ruling, the high court said the program undermines the public schools and violates the Florida Constitution's requirement of a uniform system of free public education.
Bottom line: the left wants the poor kept poor.

If the Republicans wanted, they could use this issue to the hilt and drive home to the American people (and especially the African-American people) how the left keeps them in chains - but I can safely predict they will be too wimpish to do so. "Referendums now!" should be the motto of all conservatives ...
I don’t think that they really want to keep the poor in poverty. They are just jealous of private schools because they can’t indoctrinate those students.
And this is the same Florida Court that sentenced Terry Schiavo to death, is it not?
Sad but true Tazz.
Sad but true.
The GOP just cant seem to understand that while they walk on eggshells to avoid offending marxist scum that wouldnt vote for em anyway, they piss off their own voters.
Like Ive always said, the congress and Senate are one big club that pretends to contend - then plays golf together on our dime.
And the ruling was absurd.
It is lack of competition, marxist curriculum, and union domination that undermines the schools.
