Despite the fierce objections of filibustering Democrats, John Bolton was appointed today as the new UN ambassador during the summer recess of congress. While this is bad news for the Democrats, who viewed Bolton as not being "UN friendly" enough, it is great news for both Israel and Zionists everywhere.
In a rare break with the Democratic Party, liberal Jewish organizations like the ADL and B'nai B'rith have supported Bolton's nomination, along with more centrist Jewish groups such as AIPAC and JINSA. In 1991, Bolton led the successful fight to revoke the longstanding UN resolution stating "Zionism is racism", which of course made him a very important friend of Israel and its supporters.
While the Left sees Bolton's disdain for the arabists of the UN as counterproductive, those of us who support Israel, and have no use for islamic apologists, are thrilled that Bush finally has installed Bolton as the next UN ambassador.
Congrats to John Bolton! You deserved it, and your "take no BS" approach is just what the corrupt UN needed.

Nice to see a rare friend in the UN. We need friends wherever we can get them, as so many just kiss the ass of the Arabs at Israel's expense.

As for the Bolton news: Good! It's about damn time.
As for Ohio Republican Sen. George Voinovich, who broke ranks with Bush and opposed Bolton, said he was disappointed.
"I am truly concerned that a recess appointment will only add to John Bolton's baggage and his lack of credibility with the United Nations," he said.
Voinovich should be booted out of the Republican party for being an ass kisser of the liberal Democrats.

I agree with you about Voinovich. This RINO is a disgraceful Republican who needs to go away. He refuses to even take phone calls or make statements about Bolton's success at defeating the Zionism = Racism resolution. Why? I have my ideas...

Great to hear about Bolton. Hopefully the UN will finally start some much needed reforms.
BTW, great blog in general too! So many people refuse to see radical Islam for the danger that it is, and it's great to see such a pro-Israel site that exposes it out in the open.
