PA TV to the Jews: "Go and die"

This is for all the concessionist cowards who still believe it is better for Israel to continue capitulating Land to the moslems.

Calling it a new level of hatred, an Israeli monitor of Arab media condemned the Palestinian Authority for broadcasting a feature that called for the expulsion of Israelis from the Holy Land.

"It is time for you [Israelis] to be gone," said a voice over images of Tel Aviv and an Israeli flag. "Live wherever you like, but don't live among us. It is time for you to be gone. Die wherever you like, but don't die among us."

Oh, in case you concessionists didn't know it, PA TV is owned and operated by the Palestinian Authority, headed by the "moderate" Chairman Mahmoud Abbas whom Sharon and Bush have embraced as a real "partner in peace".

Itamar Marcus of Palestinian Media Watch said the feature, broadcast Dec. 20 and on a previous occasion, was "yet another program on Palestinian Authority television calling for the destruction of Israel."

Segments of the program, which focused on the town of Jaffa, can be viewed here. In the feature, all of Israel's coastal cities, Acre, Haifa, Caesarea, Ashdod, Ashkelon and Jaffa, are said to be situated in what is "known today as Palestine," making Israel non-existent.

The final words of the program recited Israeli-Arab poet Mahmoud Darwish:

"It is time for you [Israelis] to be gone. Live wherever you like, but don't live among us. It is time for you to be gone. Die wherever you like, but don't die among us. We have the past here. We have the present, the present and the future… So leave our country, our land, our sea, our wheat, our salt, our wounds. Everything. And leave the memories."

Some of the more naive concessionists believe that retreating from all land in which Jews are the minority will actually help stregthen the Jewish State. Well, with large Arab populations in Jerusalem, Acre, Haifa and Jaffa that will make one hell of a country, won't it? We can call your new state: The Cowardly Homosexual State of Tel Aviv.

Wake up, capitulationist fools. You're brainwashed by liberalism.

Liberal Jewish woman marries porpoise in Israel

No, I'm not kidding.

An unusual wedding ceremony was held in the southern resort town of Eilat on Wednesday, as Sharon Tendler, a 41-years-old Jewish millionaire from London married her beloved Cindy, a 35-years-old [male] dolphin, Israel's leading newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported Thursday.

The groom, a resident of the Eilat dolphin reef, met Tendler 15 years ago, when she first visited the resort. The British rock concert producer took a liking to the dolphin and has made a habit of traveling to Eilat two or three times a year and spending time with her underwater sweetheart.

"The peace and tranquility underwater, and his love, would calm me down," the excited bride said after the wedding.

After a years-long romance, Tendler decided to embark on the highly unusual path of tying the knot with her beloved dolphin. Last week, she approached Cindy's trainer Maya Zilber with the extraordinary request.

Zilber accepted the challenge and "talked the idea over with the fellow," who apparently consented.

And so on Wednesday afternoon, the thrilled bride, wearing a white dress, walked down the dock before hundreds of astounded visitors and kneeled down before her groom, who was waiting in the water.

Cindy, escorted by his fellow best-men dolphins, swam over to Tendler and she hugged him, whispered sweet nothings in his ear, and kissed him in front of the cheering crowd. After the ceremony was sealed with some mackerels, Tendler was tossed into the water by her friends so that she could swim with her new husband.

"I'm the happiest girl on earth," the bride said as she chocked back tears of emotion. "I made a dream come true, and I am not a pervert," she stressed.

Tendler said she and her newly wed husband will probably spend their wedding night bowling. "But what kind of children would they have?" one of the children in the crowd asked his father.

Isn't liberalism healthy? Wow, does this wack job need to change her life.

PA moslems storm Rafah Crossing; EU monitors flee

The assigned troops from the Effeminate Union, who are stationed at the Rafah border to monitor any terrorist infiltration since Sharon unconditionally surrendered Gaza, fled in a crying panic from the Gaza/Egypt border today after moslems from the PA scared them off with intimidating threats, very mean looks, and frightening hand gestures.

The traumatized Europeans are reportedly receiving professional counciling back in Israel, with many even being given day spa pampering, including facials, pedicures and mud baths, to help them cope with all the stress and anxiety following the bullying they suffered from the unruly arab mob.

It is being said that the EU will be slow to return the monitors to the crossing due to fears about their potential post-stress disorders, and since Israel is barred from the border due to a concession signed by Sharon after the Israeli retreat, the moslems will now be entrusted without any 3rd party monitoring to make sure no terrorists or weapons are permitted to enter from Egypt.

Said Arutz Sheva news:
After the compound was stormed, the EU's observers stationed at the crossing quickly fled the scene in panic while the gunmen prevented vehicles from reaching the crossing. The observers are responsible for monitoring the crossing and enforcing the agreement between Israel and the PA on live camera transmissions of border activity.

The armed men refused to heed demands by PA officials to leave the compound, and the EU workers left out of fear for their lives. "Our monitors are now in the Kerem Shalom military base [in Israel]. When the situation is clear, and these people leave, we will go back to our work," said EU spokesman Julio De La Guardia.

I sure hope the fragile Euros will be OK from that scary experience.

"Palestinian" stabs Jew at Bus Stop

Another desperately poor moslem, who only wants a decent living wage and a respectable home, stabbed an oppressive Jewish bystander at a bus stop in occupied Jerusalem today. Human Rights organizations are reportedly outraged because the "Palestinian" attacker who fled the scene simply lashed out from a lifetime of humiliation, yet was still being ruthlessly pursued by the tyrannical Israeli police, nonetheless.

Ynet reports:
A Palestinian stabbed an Israeli at the Atarot industrial zone, near Jerusalem. The Israeli sustained moderate injuries to the neck in the stabbing, which police believe was a terror attack.

According to the initial investigation, the Palestinian lunged at the Israeli as he was waiting at a bus stop. Security forces are conducted a large-scale search for the assailant, who fled the scene.

Magen David Adom paramedics treated the injured Israeli and later evacuated him to a Jerusalem hospital.

According to Palestinian sources, the Arab assailent has sweet, sensitive eyes and always tells his mother how much he loves her. In addition, he is known to frequently help people in need and is well liked by all his neighbors. Also, the man once saved several puppies in a house fire which started when a wayward Israeli missile struck an orphanage.

So, do I sound like the MSM now?

Conservative Christian "honor kills" his 4 daughters in Pakistan

Oh, wait a minute, because the AP won't mention this man's religion perhaps I was a bit hasty to assume he was a Christian conservative. Maybe, just maybe, I mean it's a long shot, but...but...just, ummm...perhaps he was a steaming pile of islamic dung instead?

You make the call:

MULTAN, Pakistan (AP) -- Nazir Ahmed appears calm and unrepentant as he recounts how he slit the throats of his three young daughters and their 25-year old stepsister to salvage his family's "honor" - a crime that shocked Pakistan.

The 40-year old laborer, speaking to The Associated Press in police detention as he was being shifted to prison, confessed to just one regret - that he didn't murder the stepsister's alleged lover too.

Ahmed's killing spree - witnessed by his wife Rehmat Bibi as she cradled their 3 month-old baby son - happened Friday night at their home in the cotton-growing village of Gago Mandi in eastern Punjab province.

It is the latest of more than 260 such honor killings documented by the rights commission, mostly from media reports, during the first 11 months of 2005.

Tell me again why they are the Religion of Peace? Explain to me so I can understand why Israel gives them Land? Show me again why it makes sense for islam to be taught in our public schools? Reveal to me why this barbaric ideology hasn't been outlawed yet? I guess I'm just not smart enough to figure all this out.

Under God: OUT! Allahu Ahkbar: IN!

In a ruling so typical of the Spielberg left, the 9th circuit court of appeals in (where else?) San Francisco followed their since overturned ruling banning "Under God" from the pledge of allegience with a ruling permitting public schools to give classroom islamic indoctrination to students.

I'm not joking.

(2005 WorldNetDaily.com) Parents and children challenging a California school district for its practice of teaching 12-year-old students to "become Muslims" are asking a federal appeals court to reconsider its ruling in front of the entire panel of judges.

As WND reported, the lawsuit was filed by the Thomas More Law Center against the Byron Union School District and various school officials to stop the "Islam simulation" materials and methods used in the Excelsior Elementary School in Byron, Calif.
The article then goes on to say:

A three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit – widely regarded as the nation's most liberal federal appeals court– upheld a San Francisco federal district court's ruling that the Byron Union School District did not violate the U.S. Constitution.

Edward L. White III, trial counsel with the Law Center, says parents were never told about the Islamic program and didn't know they had the option to remove their children from such an activity.

White says one of the parents found out by accident, looking through her son's schoolbag after the program had finished.

The Law Center says that for three weeks, "impressionable 12-year-old students" were, among other things, placed into Islamic city groups; took Islamic names; wore identification tags that displayed their new Islamic name and the star and crescent moon; handed materials that instructed them to 'Remember Allah always so that you may prosper'; completed the Islamic Five Pillars of Faith, including fasting; and memorized and recited the 'Bismillah' or 'In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate,' which students also wrote on banners hung on the classroom walls.

Students also played "jihad games" during the course, which was part of the school's world history and geography program.

Can you imagine the uproar if the school forced students to use rosary, read gospel or get baptized? How about making them practice Jewish dietary laws and recite the required daily prayers?

I say, Liberalism is clearly a religion and must be banned from the public sector under the separation clause.

Moslem vermin kills Israeli in suicide bombing

And the beat goes on...

TULKARM, West Bank (Reuters) - A Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up when Israeli soldiers tried to search him at a roadblock in the occupied West Bank on Thursday and rescuers said an Israeli was killed.

A passenger who had unknowingly shared the same taxi as the bomber said soldiers stopped the car at an impromptu roadblock and asked young men to get out. "The man got out slowly, closed his jacket and blew himself up," said Nafez Shahin, 48.

Notice how Reuters refers to Judea as "occupied West Bank"? Think they may be just a little biased in their reporting? Naaah.

Jerusalem Post rips anti-Israel "Munich"

There's a great film review of Munich, Abu Spielberg's big screen jihad against Israel's right to exist, in today's Jerusalem Post by Samuel G. Freedman. Freedman pulls no punches in exposing Spielberg and his radical homosexual/Palestinian activist screen writer, Tony Kushner, for the self-loathing Jews that they are.

Forty-five years ago, during Israel's brief turn as an object of international sympathy, the film of Exodus opened, presenting a fantasy version of the Jewish State's birth.

With their new film Munich, the director Stephen Spielberg and screenwriter Tony Kushner have supplied the antidote, the counter-Exodus, an anti-Zionist epic in which the role of a virtuous Jew is to make not aliya but yerida. Few works of art or popular culture so pointedly convey the anxiety of liberal American Jews, circa 2005, about an Israel that survives by the practice of aggressive self-defense. In Munich, Israel is not the expression of Jewish values but the contradiction of them.

Liberal Jews everywhere will likely hail this putrid film as a Spielberg masterpiece. It is even conceivable that American liberal Jewish organizations will begin actively encouraging yerida, or emigrating away from Israel, as the morally right thing for Jews to do - undoubtably with Spielberg himself as their spokesman.

Spielberg and Kushner never miss an opportunity to depict the hit team, and by extension the Israeli enterprise, as anathema to Jewishness. Of the five members of the revenge unit, Munich offers its greatest empathy to those with the gravest doubts about the morality of the mission. One of them, Carl, vividly embodies the cosmopolitan Jew with his pipe and cardigan sweaters, his cover occupation dealing antiques. Robert, an erstwhile toymaker who moonlights as a bomb-maker, declares at one point, "We're Jews. Jews don't do wrong because our enemies do wrong…We're supposed to be righteous."

Such sentiments ultimately persuade the film's central character, Avner, the one with whom an audience is meant most closely to identify. Both the deaths he exacts from Palestinians and the deaths incurred by his own team, including those of Carl and Robert, turn Avner into a shattered specimen by the movie's final scenes.

The idea of moral equivalence between the Jews and the Arabs used to be the liberal mantra. Now, advancing the moral superiority of the Palestinians over the Israelis has become the "evolved" position of the progressives.

In Munich, it's Palestinians rather than Jews who express the deepest feelings for home. At one juncture, Kushner and Spielberg contrive to have the Israel squad wind up in the same Athens safe-house as a PLO cell. Ali, the leader of the Arab group, wears around his neck an ancient key.

While the detail is not explained in the film, it clearly refers to the Palestinian practice of holding onto keys from the homes they fled or were driven from in 1948 and 1967. "Home is everything," Ali tells Avner, who is pretending to be a Basque separatist to avoid detection.

Earlier in the film, in contrast, Avner assures his pregnant wife that she is his home. She, for her part, says that his problem as a human being is that he was raised in a kibbutz and thinks of Israel as his mother. Ultimately, Avner joins her and their newborn daughter in Brooklyn. Doing so, Munich wants us to understand, is the quintessentially Jewish thing to do. Exile is what makes the Jew Jewish, because powerlessness makes a Jew soulful and idealistic. The Israelis of Munich are the kind even Edward Said could like.

Yes, the Jew who leaves Israel behind, and, by clear inference, abandones Judaism as well, is really somehow being a good Jew and a better human being as a result.

FOR ANYONE who knows Tony Kushner's life and work, the viewpoint of Munich can come as no surprise. As a gay man who grew up in the Deep South during the segregation era, Kushner has been formed by two social conflicts that genuinely do yield to absolutes of Right and Wrong.

Kushner's sensibility, much more than Spielberg's, informs Munich. If one sees the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the collision of two legitimate forms of nationalism, then it cannot possibly be rendered as a matter of moral absolutes. If one sees it, however, as a matter of Western colonialism dispossessing an indigenous people, then Right and Wrong come in very handy.

When Kushner has spoken of Zionism over the years, he has often invoked the imperialism narrative. Just to cite one typical example, he told Haaretz last year that "establishing a state means f---ing people over."

All of which makes it entirely logical that the most appealing, sympathetic characters in Munich are those who criticize or even disown Zionism in the cause of being more truly Jewish. And, of course, for winning an audience's heart, nothing beats having a Jew die. Death is the ultimate proof of Jewish virtue.

L'chaim to death?? Apparantly, that's Jewish philosophy from the liberal perspective.

Sadly, whatever good Spielberg did in his Holocaust survivor documentaries and Schindler's List has now been undone by this collaboration with Kushner in producing, Munich: the Israel-hating, Palestinian loving, feel good blockbuster of the season.

His legacy will forever be stained.

Convicted murderer Barghouti to head PA ticket

Marwan Barghouti, one of the most brutal of all islamic terror leaders, and currently serving 5 life sentences in an Israeli prison for mass murder, has been named head of the PA's Fatah party ticket in the coming "Palestinian" elections. Why Israel is permitting this guy to head a party from his jail cell is beyond me, but I believe it has a bit to do with SELF-LOATHING JEWS who are willing to concede just about anything to the moslems.

Of course, not satisfied with giving unrepentent Jew killer Barghouti the right to run for office from jail, the left is also calling for his outright clemency and release from prison as a good will gesture for peace. Sharon has already strongly hinted that freeing this genocidal butcher is a very good possibility, and with Likud now utterly capitulating to the left it is almost certain that soon enough Barghouti will be walking the streets of Jerusalem calling for the extinction of the Jews.

WTF is happening to Israel? Do they not want to exist anymore?

Fatah has officially succeeded in merging its two election lists into a single, unified list, to be headed by Marwan Barghouti, the jailed Tanzim leader.

Fatah's attempt to unite the list was delayed due to differences of opinion within the organization and tensions between younger members and veteran figures. Younger Fatah members resented the high placement of the older, senior figures in the party list, at their expense.

Barghouti's faction met on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments. By Wednesday morning, Fatah members believed a united list would be presented, but sources in Barghouti's camp said the possibility of two seperate lists should not be ruled out.

"The road looks paved to unity, Barghouti himself authorized the merger, but we were surprised that the Fatah leadership reneged on some of the agreements, and insisted on bringing in senior members, some of whom caused our resignation. We want a young, fresh list, without any stain of corruption," said a Barghouti source.

If Hitler himself were alive and in an Israeli jail the left would pardon and release him. Just disgusting that this is being permitted.

Munich vs. Passion

Funny, isn't it? No, not "ha-ha" funny, but funny that the Hollywood leftists-and-the-liberal-Jewish-organizations-who-love-them went berserk over Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ, calling it virulently anti-Semitic and a blood libel which "would incite anti-Jewish riots from angry Christians everywhere", but now just fawn over Steven Spielberg's Munich blood libel that portrays Palestinian terrorists to be lovable family men who just couldn't take any more abuse from evil Israel and the arrogant Jews.

Now, first off, I saw Gibson's Passion in the movie theater, and, while I felt it was too long, slow, and gratuitously gory, I did not walk out of the movie feeling Jews were about to be burned in the streets. Of course, I was not impressed by how the Jewish mobs were portrayed as one dimensional maniacs, mind you, but the scenes revealing the immoral and corrupt priesthood at the Temple was indeed a very accurate representation of that time period, so there was no need to take offense with Gibson for revealing that in his movie.

The bottom line was this: people saw what they wanted to see. I found the Christians I spoke with were so captivated and moved by Jesus and his suffering that they were barely aware of the background role the Jews had in the film, while Jews who saw the movie were acutely aware of the way the Jews were presented on screen, picking apart the inaccuracies and unfair depictions, but otherwise bored and/or grossed out by the bloody and graphic imagery.

All in all, I thought that Gibson tried his best to stay on message with the Christian Bible, while adding his own masochistic movie flair with the mega close-ups and super slow-motion shots of blood and guts.

So, if Gibson's movie was not such a big anti-Jewish blood libel after all, why did the left go so nuts over it being the second coming of Birth of a Nation? Why did we see on TV every night Gibson's anti-Semitic father ranting like a mad man denying the Holocaust for all who would listen? Why was Gibson turned down by every producer in Hollywood before he resorted to making the movie himself?

The answer is pure, anti-religious/anti-Christian bigotry, gang.

How much anti-Semitism the Jewish Left creates by using leftwing lawyers (many of them Jewish) to stop the Christians from putting up Nativity scenes or Christmas trees on public property we cannot really measure, but it can't be good for the popularity of Jews to do these things.

How much resentment against Jews is there created by liberal Jewish groups who support banning the Ten Commandments from the courthouse or Under God from the Pledge of allegiance? We can't measure the damage specifically, but let's face it, that's no way for Jews to win over Christians.

Which brings us to Spielberg's wretched blood-libel movie, Munich.

This vile movie is produced by a self-loathing Jew (Spielberg) who hired a virulently anti-Semitic Jew (Tony Kushner) to create a script that depicts Israel and the Jews as racist villains who coldly persecute cuddly, humanist Palestinians without mercy.

Kushner has often preached that Israel's founding was a grave and monumental mistake. He is a devout Palestinian activist who publicly speaks against Israel and for "Palestine" on a regular basis.

Of course, Spielberg himself is a card carrying, leftwing Hollywood Democrat who ranks the afternoon he spent with Fidel Castro as the best day of his life, so let's not exactly confuse him for being a red state tough guy.

The problem isn't just that self-loathing Spielberg made a movie which is pro-Palestinian. The problem is that he has contributed to the world's hatred of Jews by lying on camera to give the illusion that the moslems are the good guys and the Jews are the bad guys...or at least that one is no different from the other.

Thanks, Stevey. We need you and your self-loathing buddies like a hole in the head. I'd take Gibson over you and your kind any day of the week. Please, stop putting out your hate the Jews propaganda, already.

I just hate these leftwing bums. I am officially boycotting Spielberg, and I hope all of you will as well.

Palestinians love Al Qaida

Check it out.

A poll carried out in the Palestinian Authority shows 65% support for Al Qaeda terror attacks on the United States and European countries - the biggest donors to the PA. The poll comes at a time when US and European funding of the Palestinian Authority is at an all-time high.

With elections due to be held next month and the Hamas terror group gaining significantly in municipal elections and polls, the survey further illustrates the desire of a majority of PA Arabs to establish an Islamic state, similar to Iran.

A whopping 79.9% of Palestinians would like the PA to follow Shari'a - Islamic religious law. Included in the figure are 11.3% of the respondents, who would like to see Shari'a supplemented by the laws of a PA Legislature."What is striking is the willingness of Palestinians to turn against even the Western countries upon whom they are so totally dependent in order to progress," said Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) Director Itamar Marcus.

"The poll underscores what PMW has been documenting for years - the profoundly negative impact hate education has had on PA society…Palestinians are not in direct conflict with the US, and certainly have counted on the Europeans as active allies. And yet an overwhelming majority desire to see Europeans and Americans killed by a religion-based terror organization."

More Land and more money for the vermin! That oughta teach 'em who's boss.

Bibi: We must expel religious Jews from Likud

Try and picture this for a moment: The Republican presidential nominee declaring that he will seek legislation to expel all Christian conservatives from the GOP. He will make it part of the platform, in the party bi-laws even, that anyone associated with the religious right is forever banned from running for office as a Republican.

This is what Netanyahu is doing to Moshe Feiglin and his Jewish Leadership faction within Likud, though he is using the thinly veiled disguise of claiming to be "removing corruption" from the Party list instead coming right out and saying he's banning religious conservatives. The technicality Bibi seeks to expel Feiglin from the Likud Party for is that he was arrested and convicted for holding a sit-in to protest of Israeli Land concessions to the Palestinians back in 1997.

Said Bibi today while officially announcing his vice-PM running mate, concessionist puke Silvan Shalom:

"First, we must close ranks – there are no camps, and no factions. We are one camp, and in order to express this unity, I ask you to answer my call to choose our friend Silvan Shalom for second place in the Likud's Knesset list," Bibi told those in attendance.

"The second thing is cleaning up our movement. In recent years - and only in recent years - the Likud's name has been tainted. Criminal elements have entered our movement. Their number may be marginal, miniscule even – but the damage they have caused is great. This minority has stained the name of our movement, the name of our loyal activists, and the tens of thousands of members, who are honest people," Netanyahu said.

"As we set out on our new path, we must show these criminal elements the way out. Their place is not among us. They can go elsewhere, to another party," the Likud chairman declared.

"Therefore, in six days I will present a motion, according to which every person who has been convicted of a criminal offense that carries disgrace with it will not be allowed to run for a place in the party. Not as a Committee member, and not as a Knesset member. We are cleaning out our ranks, not just from people who have erred, but from rejected norms. And I know that I speak in your names, because we want a clean movement."

Of course, this might have something to do with the fact that Feiglin ran against him and sported a stunningly high 13 percent of the total vote within Likud, thus making him a real and viable threat to Netanyahu's desire to implement future concessions to the moslems. Still, it is remarkable that Bibi feels it is in the party's best interests to eliminate all nationalists who oppose giving Land for Peace concessions from the Likud party.

Feiglin would likely join up with the National Union headed by Benny Elon should Netanyahu succeed in expelling him and the other Jews who oppose concession.

Oh, and the idea that Bibi only wants "honest" people of "integrity" to be in Likud is quite a humorous idea coming from Bill Clinton Netanyahu, who was run out on a rail from office in 1999 for corruption and sex scandal. Oh, and also the fact that he ran as a nationalist candidate back then and then gave away Hebron to the moslems and advanced Oslo against his campaign promises really makes him a straight shooter, eh? What a laugh! Even his supporters don't trust him.

I actually hope Feiglin does leave Likud because he'll get lost in the shuffle there even if they can't kick him out, while with the National Union he could do some real good for boosting the Nationalist camp's representation in the next knesset by maximizing the rightwing vote under one party banner.

Islamic Republic of Gaza fires Qassams on Israeli Kindergarten

Oh yeah, unconditional surrender from Gaza was just a splendid idea.

Ynetnews reports:

A Chanukah party attended by kindergarten children and their parents in kibbutz Sa'ad was disrupted Monday after the activation of the "Red Dawn" alert system was followed by an exploding Qassam rocket nearby.

No injuries were reported in the latest rocket attack. Another Qassam landed Monday afternoon south of Ashkelon.

"This was a big miracle, because the Qassam rocket landed at a very small distance from the kindergarten during the Chanukah party," community director Sarah Evron said. "We must recall that kindergartens and all other educational facilities at Sa'ad are not fortified. Obviously, after (the attack) the party ended."

OK, time for Spielberg to begin work on his next project: "Gaza". In it we will see sympathetic "Palestinian" characters who are hunted down in cold blood by cruel Israeli spies simply because they launched qassam rockets at Jewish school children due to their frustration with Israeli injustices and brutality.

-MZ

Has Israel gone mad?

Well, I hate to concede anything to the concessionists, especially during Chanukah, but the fact is the self-loathers are winning the war in Israel right now.

Last week Benjamin Netanyahu, with near unanimous support from the rest of the Likud leadership, announced plans to have Moshe Feiglin expelled from the Likud party for being anti-concessionist and too Jewish.

Then FM Silvan Shalom, Netanyahu's second in command in Likud, said on Israel TV over the weekend:

"In the framework of negotiations we will be willing to compromise with the Palestinians." He then added the traditional capitulator battle cry, "Israel must be willing to make painful concessions."

What has happened to Likud? I had hoped it was just a Sharon disease, and that once he was out the Party they would surely return to hardline nationalism. Those were hopes, mind you, not expectations, so I am dissappointed but not surprised.

Naturally, PA terror leader Mahmoud Abbas isn't conceding anything. Get a load of this from Ha'aretz today:
Abbas even said that the Qassam rockets being fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel are "Israel's problem" and that he does not intend to interfere. "Let the Israelis deal with it," he said.

Of couse, there's always Sharon, the grandest capitulator of them all, who's Kadima Party has already been endorsed by the Peace Now, Palestinian Rights organization known as the Meretz Party. Here's a little sliver of the new party platform's concessionist blather:
"The basic tenet of the peace process is two national states. The Kadima Party believes the advancement of the peace process with the Palestinians is a central goal that it (Kadima) will act to advance in every possible way and channel in order to lay the foundations for the forming of the permanent borders of the state of Israel and to achieve quiet and peace."

It could get worse before it gets better, gang.

The truth about Chanukah

OK, by popular demand, the real story of Channukah.

Contrary to what Channukah is commonly celebrated to be, it is not merely a gift giving "festival of lights" commemorating how one day's worth of Temple oil miraculously lasted 8 days until supplies could arrive back in biblical times.

The fact is, the oil miracle is really just the icing on the cake of a much, much bigger story that will fascinate many of you unfamiliar with Channukah's historical events.

The story begins around 167 BCE. The Greek empire had taken control of the Land of Israel about 200 years earlier during the conquest of Alexander the Great. However, during this two hundred year period of time, the Greeks had allowed the Jews much sovereignty over their own affairs.

In fact, despite the differences between monotheistic Judaism and the polytheistic Greeks, there was much respect given to the Jews by the Greeks for their ways of Temple sacrifice, which the Greeks also did to their gods, and the great emphasis of the Jews on scholarship and study, which the Greeks also shared.

However, with that benevolent relationship also came some serious problems. As is happening today in America and throughout the Western world, the Jews began to assimilate, or Hellenize, into Greek culture at an alarming rate. The temptations and pleasures readily available from hedonistic Greek society were simply overwhelming, and in staggering numbers the Jews became less Jewish and more Greek with every passing generation.

By 167 BCE most Jews had Greek names, spoke Greek as there first language, and had distanced themselves from matters of Jewish life to the point that they began to look down upon Judaism at outdated, uncool, irrelevent, prudish, and entirely out of step with the "progressive" Greek lifestyle of the times.

The stage was then set for the Greeks and their self-loathing Jewish partners to get together and try to put an end to the last line of division between the Greek and Jewish world once and for all.

A totally Hellenized mayor of Jerusalem come to power, and along with his ruling Greek counterparts, they decided to declare an end to Judaism. The ultimate transgression was thus ordered upon the Jews: Sacrifice a pig upon the Temple altar!

Naturally, a self-loathing Jew immediately volunteered for the job. However, there were still many pius Jews at that time who wouldn't tolerate such a desecration... this was going over the edge! A Jewish civil war was starting to brew between the traditional Jews and the self-loathers who had the backing of their Greek allies.

As the Hellenized Jew is about to sacrifice the pig at the altar, Mattathias, a Kohane (or Jewish priest) stabs him, and also kills the Greek official present. He then turns to the crowd and announces: "Follow me, all of you who are for God's law and stand by the covenant." (1 Maccabees 2:27)

Mattathias had five sons. One of which was named Judah, who went on to be known as Judah the Maccabee (which means "hammer") for his great military prowess. About 10,000 Jews followed Mattathius and his sons into the hills to begin their war against the self-loathing Jews and the Greeks.

Despite being outnumbered four to one, after three years the Jews prevailed in reclaiming the Temple, though the entire war would last for 25 years ending in 142 BCE. When the Jews found the Temple it was totally desecrated by the Greeks and Hellenized Jews, and essentially looked like a Pagen sanctuary.

One day's worth of pure oil was found to light the Menorah once again. The Jews, though, had to wait 8 days as it turned out for supplies to arrive, but the oil somehow lasted until then, allowing the menorah to remain lit the entire time.

The Temple was officially rededicated shortly after this miracle, on the 25th of Kislev, which is when Chanukah is celebrated every year.

Unfortunately, the good era to follow wouldn't last long. Mattathias' only living son, Simon, was made High Priest, and totally against Jewish ways, made himself King as well. This began a spiral downward back into Hellenizing with his Self-loathing son, John Hycrannus taking over to begin what would be known as the Hasmonean Dynasty, which was anti-Jewish, that eventually led to wicked Herod about 100 years later, and the eventual destruction of the Temple in 70 CE.

But, for one small, fleeting period of time, the Jews fought against the powerful Greeks and the Self-loathers who allied with them and somehow emerged victorious. The lesson we must learn form this is that God will reward you for fighting the good fight, for resisting the Hellenizers and Pagans, for staying to His traditions and being good in God's eyes.

Happy Chanukah!!

"Palestinians are firing Qassams from our destroyed homes"

Attention, please! Attention!! Would all the self-loathing capitulationists who believed conceding Gaza to the moslems was the right thing to do please take your seats at once!

Thank you.

We have a special guest today who would like to make some important announcements regarding the Gaza expulsion. His name is Avi Farhan, a restauranteur who was expelled from Gaza and is featured in today's Ynetnews.

Mr. Farhan, please share your thoughts now with the naive concessionists assembled here today.

Farhan:

"I warned that the disengagement would blow up in our faces. The Palestinians are firing Qassams from our destroyed homes toward the homes we were evacuated to in the area surrounding Gaza."

"I say to (Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon that despite all the pain involved, you must attack neighborhoods from which the Qassams are launched. We must attack these neighborhoods with the Air Force and our artillery guns. If they do not let us conduct a normal lifestyle, then they too must not be able to live."

(Note: Yassir Sharon has announced he will not use military force to subdue the Kassams because he says he doesn't want to risk endangering innocent "Palestinian" lives. -MZ).

"Sharon has given them all of Gaza, and we have paid the price – but nothing satisfies them. I know the next phase will be Qassam attacks on Lod and Kfar Saba."

"The country’s leadership, with Sharon, (Likud Chairman) Benjamin Netanyahu and (Labor Chairman) Amir Peretz at the helm, must wake up before we all fall into the abyss. They must form an emergency government; we must unite the religious and the secular, the Ashkenaz and the Sephardic, the Kibbutznik and the West Bank settler – and together bring an end to the terror."

Farhan bemoans the destruction of his Ele Sinai restaurant, which, before the intifada erupted, was frequented by the likes of Sharon and (Internal Minister) Gideon Ezra.

"I used to point out Ashkelon’s chimneys to them, and they understood that we must not withdraw from the area (Gaza), because Ashkelon would be targeted; at least they said they understood this, before they changed their minds. Now look at what’s happening."

"It is impossible to understand the logic of those who ceded this area to the Palestinians.”

Thank you, Mr. Farhan, for your crucial insite into the terror that has befallen Israel since the fall of Gaza to the moslems. God willing, your words have opened up the eyes and ears of the concessionists who have been living in naive denial.

Shabbot Shalom

Jailed Terrorist Barghouti to lead PA

The best case for the death penalty you'll ever need.

Following a long dispute, the two factions of the Palestinian Fatah movement has reached an agreement Thursday to unite the group under the leadership of jailed Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti, Arab-Israeli weekly al-Sinara reported on Friday.

Palestinian Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, who was contemplating pushing back the elections, has in return committed to holding them as scheduled, and to assign Barghouti the post of forming the Palestinian government following elections.

Ever since Barghouti's arrest, the possibility of his release has often been put on the agenda, in light of his tremendous influence on the Palestinian street...

This guy is a convicted terror mastermind, sentenced to multiple life sentences, but Israel is allowing him to conduct official business from his jail cell? Worse, they are likely to release him to appease the "Palestinian" street?

Unbelievable. This guy should be dead.

Those cute little moslems

Nice to know that American taxpayer dollars help to fund "Palestinian" education like this.

Saudi television featured an interview with a young Palestinian girl who called Jews "villains" and "dogs" and said the Palestinians have no desire for peace with Israel.

In the segment on Iqra TV aired Dec. 7, the young girl said that in 1948, "the Jews occupied our land, our country. They drove us out of our homes, and put us in tents. Then they would destroy our homes. They'd put our clothes out on the sand, and then demolish the homes. They would get them out, destroy their homes, demolish and bring them down."

The interviewer, referring to the 2000 incident Palestinians regard as a catalyst for the current intifada, or uprising, then asked, "Why did they do that to Muhammad Al-Dura?"
"Because they are Jews, villains, dogs. You see? That's why."

Asked if it's possible Palestinians will one day reconcile with Jews, the girl answered, "No."

"Don't we want peace with them?" the interviewer asked.

"We don't want anything," she replied. "We don't want anyone, not the Jews. ... We want to live in security, see? We don't want Jews, thieves, or villains."

She continued: "I don't like hearing such news. It makes me very sad, because the martyrs die. It's no joke, they die for real, by live bullets or rubber bullets, see? Rubber bullets have iron inside them. If a rubber bullet hits somebody, like that, he might … ."

The girl said she didn't want war, but "if the war continues, and there is a big battle, the Jews … the Jews – we will drive them out of their homes. We will do it to the Jews. What they did to us we will do to them."

I suspect this moslem girl was interviewed after seeing Spielberg's "Munich". Time for another Israeli concession?

Koffi's bad to the Bone

Methinks thou doth protest too much, Kofi.

Bone had just said that some of the UN leader's account of events in the oil-for-food scandal "don't really make sense" when Mr Annan interrupted him to say: "I think you're being very cheeky. Listen, James Bone, you have been behaving like an overgrown schoolboy in this room for many, many months and years.

"You are an embarrassment to your colleagues and to your profession. Please stop misbehaving, and please let's move on to a more serious subject."

Bone, who has repeatedly asked UN spokesmen about the Mercedes, walked out of the room. He later said: "I've known Kofi Annan for more than 15 years and his outburst surprised and amused me. I thought he was acting more like a tin-pot dictator than the world's top diplomat. He is, after all, a public official paid with tax-payers' money."

The showdown was the latest in the series of tense encounters between senior UN officials and members of the press.

It came as the UN remained mired in negotiations over budget and management reforms. The head of the UN correspondents' association defended Bone, saying he had a right to ask a question.

Mr Annan agreed that he had had a right, but said that mutual respect was also necessary.

Yeah, that's the ticket. The billion dollar oil-for-food crime should just be dismissed for being "unimportant" and "cheeky". Well done, Kofi.

Somebody, anybody, please nuke Hollywood

OK, first we have Tookie the mass murderer gangsta being championed by the celebrity left, then we have Speilberg releasing his miserably self-loathing, anti-Israel flick, "Munich", to the delight of terrorists everywhere, and now this:

TRENTON, N.J. (Dec. 21) - Ethan Hawke has asked New Jersey's acting governor to grant clemency to a 65-year-old woman who has been in prison for more than 16 years for murdering her police officer-boyfriend.

The 35-year-old actor said in an e-mail Tuesday that his mother knows Melvina McClain, who is serving a 30-year-old sentence for shooting Detective Louis Glenn in a bar in 1986, and that she "believes in her entirely."

Hawke, who grew up in West Windsor, released a letter he sent Monday to acting Gov. Richard J. Codey. A spokesman for the acting governor said Codey couldn't comment until the letter had been received.

In the letter, Hawke asked that McClain's sentence be commuted "so she can live the last years of her life helping her children, her grandchildren and many others learn from her example of redemption."

Hawke's mother, Leslie Hawke, befriended McClain when she took a year off from her job as a publishing executive to teach at a Trenton parochial school.

An entry in a student journal had "all this stuff in there about her mother murdering her boyfriend and I thought, `This kid has an imagination,"' Leslie Hawke said in an interview Tuesday. "But it turned out to be true."

Last week, Hawke visited McClain at a Clinton correctional facility. The visit prompted her son to write to Codey.

The request for clemency has the backing of the state Office of the Public Defender, which filed a clemency petition in June with the State Parole Board.

The petition claims McClain suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, stemming from a lifetime of psychological and physical abuse, including more than 400 beatings before she was 18.

The left has never met a murderer they didn't like, did they? I'm sure killing a male cop earns you double points in liberal country. Oh, and remember, Melvina had a difficult childhood.

Rockets from Judenrein Gaza strike IDF Base, wound 5

Since morbidly obese PM Yassir Sharon ethnically cleansed Gaza of all the Jews things have gotten much nicer for the terrorists. They are launching new shiny rockets imported from Egypt through the now unprotected Rafah border, have much improved positions from which to fire their weapons using the land on which Jewish communities and military bases once thrived until Sharon demolished and abandoned them to appease the moslems.

Yep, the terrorists who want Israel destroyed have to be feeling much better about themselves these days.

In fact, now they have managed to consistently rocket the city of Ashkelon, well north of the Gaza border, with more accuracy and consistency than ever before. Isn't that special? Best of all, Sharon is only making minimal responses to the attacks so the jihad party can just keep right on going without fear of the consequences.

I think it's quite reasonable to conclude that rockets will be making landfall in Jaffa or even Tel Aviv in the next few months, and when Sharon and his concessionist buddies pull out of Judea and Samaria the good time era for moslem terrorists will really kick into high gear. They may not even have to blow themselves up anymore... just fire away from the sweet new land gifts that the capitulators hand out free of charge with big Chamberlain smiles.

Two rockets landed on the Zikim army base just south of Ashkelon late Thursday morning. They struck near the base’s mess hall, which was filled with officers at the time.

Five soldiers were wounded by shrapnel or treated for shock in the Zikkim attack, including battalion commander Lt.-Col. Yossi Drori.

Another rocket fell near the Ashkelon industrial zone, where one of Israel’s largest power plants is located. Earlier this week a rocket hit the power plant but failed to cause any damage. Rockets also struck a different IDF base in the region earlier this week.

On August 15th, on the eve of the implementation of the Gaza withdrawal, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon appeared on television and told the nation: “We will hold out our hand with an olive branch, but we will respond to attacks [after the Disengagement] in an unprecedented manner.”

Military sources were quoted following Thursday’s attack saying, “There is no magic solution to eliminate Kassam fire.”“We are not looking for magic, but merely security!” responded former IDF Southern District Commander Brig.-Gen. (res.) Tzvi Fogel on Israel Radio.

“We must declare that whoever approaches these known launching sites will be shot. They will say that it prevents Gaza residents from going to work in the fields, but if given a choice between enabling the residents of Gaza or the residents of Ashkelon to go to work – the State of Israel must choose Ashkelon… Why can’t the IDF display the kind of determination it used in the Disengagement in its efforts to stop the rockets?”

I'll tell you why, General: Because the IDF is getting their marching orders from a concessionist who doesn't want to hurt the moslems feelings. Perhaps another good will gesture is in order?

Patriot Act to be extended

Despite the fact that the vast majority of people in this country agree that the Patriot Act is a very important part of keeping America safe, the Dems are trying to kill it with fillibuster. Well, thankfully, it looks as if it will survive for at least 6 months more.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Senators on Wednesday agreed to extend the expiring provisions of the USA Patriot Act for six months to allow the bill's critics to continue to seek additional civil liberty safeguards in the anti-terrorism law.

The deal, if passed by the GOP-controlled Senate, would still need to get the approval of the Republican-controlled House and President Bush, but it would keep the Patriot Act provisions from expiring on Dec. 31.

If it were up to the left we'd all just commit suicide, so no wonder they hate this legislation.

Miracles CAN happen

Please brace yourself for this announcement: The congress actually passed a bill to CUT spending on entitlements!

Oh, and the Dems are seriously pissed.

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada countered that the GOP was advancing "an ideologically driven, extreme, radical budget. It caters to lobbyists and an elite group of ultraconservative ideologues here in Washington, all at the expense of middle class Americans," he said.

Watch it Harry; you'll get your panties in a wad.

Plaut's views on Israeli politics

A great article analyzing Israel's political situation today by old MBC friend Steven Plaut. I have taken the liberty to cherry pick the most essential parts for you.

Binyamin Netanyahu beat Silvan Shalom for the head of the rump Likud, the party left over after the Sharon people bolted and joined the Peres people in co-creating Kadima, yet another party of Oslo appeasement and Israeli self-abasement.

Netanyahu's victory over Silvan Shalom was not spectacular, and Moshe Feiglin came in at a respectable 12.4% for third place. As prime minister, Netanyahu was as Chamberlainian as Shimon Peres and turned Hebron over to the savages. He has been talking hawkishly in recent months, but he talked hawkishly before he was elected prime minister in the 1990s, so such talk should be regarded with acute skepticism.

At this point, there are three contenders for prime minister. Each of them has a track record of endorsing Oslo appeasement, Israeli capitulation and Israeli self-abasement.

First of all, unless he has more health problems, Sharon will win.

Peretz is a demagogue who would destroy Israel economically in his attempt to restore Third World economic conditions and Bolshevik economic policies. Peretz is so incompetent, and just plain ignorant, that he would place Israel in imminent danger should any crisis develop while he were prime minister.

Sharon would continue with his usual policies as the next prime minister. The biggest existential danger to Israel from this, other than the continuation of those policies themselves, would be having Ehud Olmert as Number Two (I use the term "Number Two" in all of its many Austin Powers-like meanings).

Likud is the most likely coalition partner of Kadima and, as such, it would probably put Netanyahu back in the finance ministry, which is a somewhat good reason for people to vote for Likud. The Judea, Samaria and Gaza Council endorsed Netanyahu in the primaries, over Feiglin. Feiglin still has problems being taken seriously by the general public, his two main weaknesses continuing to be the presence of Kahanists at his side and his image as a theocrat.

The right-wing opposition is, as usual, confused and incompetent. At the moment, some people are trying to build an opposition coalition between the National Union, the only truly anti-Oslo party, and the National Religious Party (NRP). The NRP pays some lip service to opposing Oslo appeasement, but, in reality, it gladly would move Israel back to its 1949 borders in exchange for some subsidies for its schools and yeshivas.

Have you notice that the more you read and learn the more obvious it becomes that the only candidate who deserves our support is Benny Elon and the National Union? You can read the Plaut article in its entirety here.

Knesset Martinis: Stirred AND shaken, PART II

(This the second of a two part series.)

Many of you have been asking me to explain the confusing, ever changing, mixed up world of Israeli politics. OK, gang, today is that day, but in order to do it so it's more enjoyable for everybody, I have decided to conduct the class at MZ's bar. I'll be pouring generously for the occasion, which will of course be compliments of the house, so grab yourself a bar stool and belly up; the political party is about to begin!

Likud

Ok, as you may have noticed in part one of my series, Likud, the current ruling party in Israel, was conspicuously missing from my analysis of the current political landscape in Israel. The reason for that is the party is in a stage of total chaos. The fact is, nobody is sure if Likud will even be a third party when the dust settles.

The question is, what is Likud? They used to be the conservative nationalist party in Israel: uncompromising on Land and ruthless in response to "Palestinian" terror. People who voted Likud were true rightwingers, not necessarily religious right, but definitely greater Israel types who's motto was "not one inch" in dealing with the moslems.

That is clearly no longer the case. First, Netanyahu swung Likud's politics to the left when he held the PM office in the late nineties by advancing the Oslo accords, conceding Hevron to the moslems, and actively engaging Yassir Arafat as a "partner in peace". Except for his initial political rhetoric and some conservative economic policy, he was virtually indistinguishable from Labor.

After being run out of office on the heels of scandal, corruption, and incompetence, Likud collapsed. They were a distant second in the political scene to the recharged leftwing Labor Party led by ex military hero, Ehud Barak.

Well, we all know how Barak caved in to Arafat and eventually gave way to "bulldozer" Ariel Sharon in the 2000 elections by a landslide. Everyone viewed Sharon as the hardest of the rightwing tough guys who would pummel the Palestinians if they so much as blinked the wrong way.

WRONG! Sharon expelled his rightwing coalition in favor of an alliance with Labor and Meretz, gave away all of Gaza to the moslems and eventually left Likud altogether to pursue even greater capitulations to terror in the Kadima Party he suddenly founded.

--Hey! Time for a round of Rum Runners, gang! Drink, drink, drink!--

Which brings us back now full circle to Bibi. Well, now Bibi inherits a party in ruins following Sharon's exit, and instead of deciding to bring Likud back to the right in order to nail down the nationalist vote, he immediately invites leftist Silvan Shalom to be his number two man on the ticket and announces plans to purge the Jewish Leadership faction led by Moshe Feiglin, who finished third in the Likud primaries, from the party altogether.

So, the question isn't if Likud will be a serious player in the next election, but who will this fading party bother aligning with in the government, and with so many leftwing and center left parties already out there, is Likud even relevant at all any more?

In fact, polls are showing Likud will get anywhere from 9-12 seats in the coming election, and if that does not improve they may be the 5th party in knesset membership. It doesn't look good for them at all right now.

They lose the Left to Labor, the Right to National Union and the religious parties, and the center to Kadima. They will scavenge a few traditional Likud voters, and score some who are still hoping they are not as concessionist as they appear, but, truth be told, we may be seeing a dying party fading out of relevence before our very eyes.

--Last Call! Time for a round of Mellon Balls!--

Anyway, it's time to see what becomes of all this. The elections will be held at the end of March, and in Israeli time that's forever.

Netanyahu seeks to expel religious Jews from Likud

Bibi Netanyahu, the corrupt, phony politician who has no soul and stands for nothing, has already started pandering to the Left since he secured the Likud nomination this past Monday.

Didn't take him long, huh?

Anyhow, he's now seeking to expel Moshe Feiglin and his Jewish Leadership wing of the Likud because they are "too rightwing" and "too Jewish"for his liking. He wants a more "centrist party" that will negotiate with the moslems.

Best of all, this lying sack of crap, who was run out of office on a rail for his many scandals in 1999, is now saying Feiglin is an ex-con who must be removed in a great integrity purge Bibi is claiming to be launching.

And what was his crime, you ask? Well, he was protesting Netanyahu's concession of Hebron to the moslems back when Bibi was PM in 1997. He was consequently convicted of abstruction (or "mutiny") by a leftwing court and sentenced to 6 months in jail.

Unbelievable the chutzpah of this guy.

Newly-elected Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu has initiated a series of steps Wednesday evening in order to prevent Moshe Feiglin, who occupies a far right position in the Likud party, from appearing on the party list.

Netanyahu held a legal meeting with Zvi Cohen, the Likud's Elections Committee Chairman. The two discussed ways to introduce changes to the Likud's constitution which would prevent those with convicted offenses from joining the party and becoming members.

There are doubts over whether Netanyahu can in fact succeed in expelling Feiglin from the movement. He is attempting to pass the following amendment into the party's constitution: "A person who has been convicted of an offense, and sentenced to three months of prison or more, will not be eligible to stand for the Likud party Knesset list."

Netanyahu went out of his way to show that the Likud was a moderate party, saying: "We in the Likud made a peace agreement with Egypt, we supported the peace agreement with Jordan without reservation, and I as prime minister conducted successful negotiations with the Palestinians, signing a number of measured agreements.”

Bragging about his negotiations with Arafat? Trying to expel a guy because he wears a yarmulke and believes the Jews shouldn't concede any land to the moslems? Nice job, Bibi. Start eating more and you'll be indestinguishable from Sharon.

Hillary said what?

Just when you thought the left couldn't be any more ridiculous...

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton waded back into the highly charged abortion debate Tuesday, charging that a GOP cost-cutting measure will boost the number of abortions in the United States. Clinton, D-N.Y., said a piece of a pending deficit-reduction measure would indirectly raise the number of abortions in the United States by leaving poor women with less Medicaid coverage for contraception.

"I sadly predict that if this measure stays in the bill ... the number of abortions will go up, the human and financial costs will go up, and many women will be really out of luck," Clinton said in a Senate floor debate on the bill, which is headed for a close vote later Tuesday or early Wednesday.

The former first lady spoke out against language in the bill that would allow states to choose whether to offer family planning services under Medicaid, a government-funded health care program for the poor.

Speaking on the Senate floor, she claimed the result of the proposed change in Medicaid rules would leave more poor women without contraception, causing more unwanted pregnancies and therefore more abortions.

"We obviously have very strong opinions and deeply held convictions about abortion, but are we also divided about contraception and family planning? Are we not in this body committed to reducing the number of abortions? Apparently we're not," Clinton said.

Gee, wouldn't passing legislation that stopped federal funding for birth control abortions make that problem go away? Nahhh...just pass out the rubbers and let's party!

Knesset Martinis: Stirred AND shaken

This the first of a two part series.

Many of you have been asking me to explain the confusing, ever changing, mixed up world of Israeli politics. OK, gang, today is that day, but in order to do it so it's more enjoyable for everybody, I have decided to conduct this class at MZ's bar. I'll be pouring generously for the occasion, which will of course be compliments of the house, so grab yourself a bar stool and belly up; this political party is about to begin!

The Knesset

OK, to learn about the current political landscape in Israel, one must first understand how the Knesset works. The Knesset consists of 120 members who are elected by Party list according to proportional representation of the popular vote. A party must receive at least 2% of the popular vote to gain a seat, and a government must consist of at least a simple majority of 61 seats.

No single party has ever come close to garnering 61 seats on their own, so coalitions are formed between parties to achieve a knesset majority.

--Drink Break! MZ is pouring lemon drop shots!--

Now, Israeli law forbids racist or anti-Semitic parties, but because the judiciary in Israel is contaminated with leftists (sound familiar?) openly jihadist parties do exist. On the flip side, the rightwing Zionist Kach Party, which was led by the late Meir Kahane, was banned from Israeli politics and listed as a terrorist organization primarily because they wanted to expel the arabs from Israel by force. Seem fair? I don't think so.

General elections for the Knesset are scheduled to be held every 4 years, but no confidence votes to dissolve the government routinely force early elections like we are about to see in March.

So, now that it's been generally explained how the Knesset works, let's do a quick shot of tequila, grab a beer chaser, and move ahead to the current political landscape in Israel.

Current Political Landscape

The Knesset as of December 19th.

  • Likud.........................................25 seats
  • Labor.........................................20 seats
  • Kadima......................................18 seats
  • Shinui........................................15 seats
  • Shas...........................................11 seats
  • National Union......................... 8 seats
  • Meretz.......................................6 seats
  • United Torah Judaism.............5 seats
  • National Religious Party..........4 seats
  • Hadash (Arab)............................3 seats
  • Balad (Arab)...............................3 seats
  • United Arab List.........................2 seats

OK, so what does all this all mean you ask? Here's another pitcher of beer and a round of kamikazes to mull it over with. Ready? Ok, the coalitions are in total disaray right now since the fall of the government and the launching of the newly formed Kadima party by stroke victim PM Ariel (Yassir) Sharon, so here is a little breakdown to make it easier.

These are the political parties which are most alike, and the most likely to form coalitions together after the March elections.

Kadima and Shinui

These two parties currently account for 33 seats in the knesset. Shinui is considered the most libertarian of the parties, and holds deeply anti-religious sentiments. Sharon is also a secularist, though not quite as militantly so as Shinui leader Tommy Lapid, leaving these parties as almost mirror images of each other.

Both Sharon and Lapid believe in making territorial concessions to the "Palestinians" wherever Jews are in the minority, a free market economy, building the separation wall, advancing liberal social policy, and increasing the separation in Israel between Torah and State.

Let's call this the Concessionist Right coalition. In the coming elections they will likely increase their combined knesset membership from 33 to about 40 between them, with Sharon's party getting about 35 seats and Lapid about 5.

Labor and Meretz

These two parties currently account for 26 seats in the knesset. Meretz is considered to be the foremost party of the Peace Now left. Their agenda is pacifist and socialist oriented, and are currently being led by Yossi Beilin, who's considered to be the principle architect of the failed Oslo and Geneva accords. Meretz is essentially an offshoot of the most liberal wing of the Labor Party, and exists primarily to advance "Palestinian" rights and other various leftwing human rights causes.

However, now that the Labor Party has elected socialist union chief Amir Peretz to head the party ticket, the line between Labor and Meretz is very blurred. The two parties are best compared to a union of proletariat (Labor) and intelligencia (Meretz) politics.

Both Peretz and Beilin believe in granting generous territorial concessions to the "Palestinians", though it could be argued that Meretz would even lean toward advocating a bi-national Israel/Palestinian State if given the opportunity, a socialist economy, very liberal social policy, and increacing the separation of Torah and State.

Let's call this the Concessionist Left coalition. In the coming elections they are likely to gain some seats from Sephardic Jewish voters who traditionally vote Likud because of the fact that Peretz himself is Sephardic, but Meretz will be reduced to almost nothing and many Laborites who are more to the center will vote for Kadima this time around. Let's call it a push, and say the Labor Meretz parties net the same 26 seats they combine for today.

--MZ is setting up cosmos for the ladies and single malts for the guys! --

Shas and United Torah Judaism (UTJ)

These ultra-Orthodox (Hareidi) parties currently combine for 16 seats in the Knesset. They are primarily interested in matters of maximizing government benefits for their Yeshiva studies, military deferments, and housing. Shas represents the Sephardic Hareidi Jews while UTJ is a union of the Chassidic and Mitnagim Hareidi, and are primarily Ashkenazi Jews.

They are relatively detatched from all other matters, and they believe it is their religious obligation to support whatever government is currently in power. Their preference is to not throw out Jews from their homes and concede land to the Arabs, but they are not activists regarding this and usually will advance whatever the government wishes so long as it does not compromise their benefits.

There is some friction in the Hareidi camp right now about the future role they should play regarding stands on Jewish expulsions, as many feel strongly that it is an abomination to support such legislation, while others believe it is only their obligation to advance the benefit packages they can receive to advance their Jewish studies.

In all likelihood not much will change, though, so let's again say we have a "push" and give the Hareidi block the same 16 seats next time that they have in Knesset today.

National Union and National Religious Party

These two parties represent the Rightwing of Israeli politics. The NRP is the traditional party of Religious Zionism and believe that advancing Judaism in Israel is the answer to the problems that plague the Jewish State. They are the Religious Right, if you will, and have always held the belief that all the land west of the Jordan River belongs to the Jews as an eternal ineritence promised from God to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and that it is the obligation of all Jews to settle the Land to prepare for the Third Temple and the coming of Moshiach.

NRP has shifted to the Left, however, as seen by the defections of ex-Party leader Effie Eitam and MK Itzhak Levi to the National Union because of the NRP's tacit enabling of the Gaza expulsion. The defacto NRP head, Zev Orlev, is less ideological and more pragmatic than the constrituency, and is willing to concede "Land for peace" like the Hareidi do in exchange for the government's religious benefits.

The National Union is a combination of religious Zionism and secular nationalism. They do favor making Israel more religious like the NRP, but are much more hawkish on defense and their first priority is to fight any and all proposed land concessions. Benny Elon is the party leader, and he penned the "Jordan is Palestine" peace initiative to transfer the Palestinian population east of the Jordan River and make Jordan the real Palestinian State.

The National Union grew very large in the eyes of Israeli nationalists who oppose Land for Peace initiatives when they stood front and center in the fight against it, and are very likely to increase their number of seats in the March elections as a result. The NRP, meanwhile, is polling terribly as their base is shifting away to the National Union due to the weakness that Orlev showed in opposing Sharon's withdrawal.

Economically, both parties favor free market capitalism (National Union more so), both fundamentally oppose any Land concessions, both are socially conservative and want to see more Judaism in Israel.

We'll refer to this block, therefore, as the Nationalist Right coalition. What will probably happen to NRP is they will either merge with the National Union or risk failing to get a single seat in the Knesset. Assuming they do merge, the polling shows an increase to 15-20 total seats, and we'll split the difference here and say a total of 17 seats will represent this block in the knesset.

Hadash, Balad, United Arab List

This Arab block makes up a total of 8 seats in the Knesset. Hadash is actually sprinkled with the most extreme of the self-loathing Jews who don't believe Israel has a right to exist, while Balad calls for a bi-national state with the extinction of Israel, and the UAL calls for a two state solution, with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

These parties are virulently anti-Semitic and won't attract more seats than they currently own. If anything, they will get fewer, as the most anti-Israel Palestinians don't vote, and the ones who do will also throw votes to the Concessionist Left coalition.

Expect the same 8 seats to come from this rabble we'll call the Arabist block.

End of Part One. Part two to follow tomorrow. Time to bottoms up that last round of brew!

Bibi scores landslide victory in Likud Primary

Benjamin Netanyahu wiped out top challenger Silvan Shalom, 47%-32%, according to exit polls from today's Likud Primaries. Before the vote, the two candidates were nearly deadlocked in the polls with Bibi ahead by a scant percentage point. Apparently, those numbers were way off as reflected by the projected 15 point margin of victory for the former Prime Minister.

Coming in a strong third was MZ favorite Moshe Feiglin, who will finish with at least 15% of the vote. Feiglin, whose views on the Land of Israel are much the same as National Union chief Benny Elon, hopes his strong showing will help shift the floundering, left-leaning Likud Party back to the right again.

One possible reason for Bibi's huge victory is that the news of Yassir Sharon's stroke brought more voters over to the "devil that they know" out of fear of possible changes in the air. Bibi is referred to by both Feiglin and Shalom as the "battered wife syndrome" candidate, meaning he is voted for by abused members who were betrayed in the past by his broken promises much the way a battered spouse returns over and over to the abusive spouse despite the repeated beatings.

Shalom was considered the most "Sharon-like" candidate, who represented the liberal wing of the Likud Party, while Faiglin represents the Right and Bibi vacillates between the two.

Stay tuned for more updates as they come in.

Sharon hospitalized with stroke

Ynet News reports that last night Yassir Sharon suffered what doctors are calling a "mild stroke" after becoming disoriented and developing facial paralysis after a meeting with fellow leftwinger, Shimon Peres. This sudden development throws his future as Prime Minister very much into doubt, as even individuals of good health, much less obese geriatrics, often suffer some decline in their abilities following mild strokes.

Sharon's backers in his new leftwing party, Kadima, are beginning to fear the party itself will crumble with the news that Sharon has fallen into poor health. They are very concerned that the public will be reluctant to elect a man to the top spot who's faculties are very much in question, leaving the members of Kadima pondering their next political move.

While MZ does not wish bad health upon Sharon, he is hoping that this results in the Prime Minister losing his leadership post, as his radical swing to the left has imperiled the very existence of the Jewish State, and put the lives of millions of Israelis in jeopardy.

It is also interesting to note that Sharon was struck down just days after Newsweek reported on his intentions to begin massive territorial concessions to the moslems in Judea and Samaria, including even the division of Jerusalem.

Best of Bush

Tonight the President gave a very impressive and moving speech to the nation about our mission in Iraq. I would like to present to you some selected quotes from that address known as, "MZ's Best of Bush" (no pun intended).

"My conviction comes down to this: We do not create terrorism by fighting the terrorists. We invite terrorism by ignoring them. And we will defeat the terrorists by capturing and killing them abroad, removing their safe havens, and strengthening new allies like Iraq and Afghanistan in the fight we share."

"Defeatism may have its partisan uses, but it is not justified by the facts. For every scene of destruction in Iraq, there are more scenes of rebuilding and hope. For every life lost, there are countless more lives reclaimed. And for every terrorist working to stop freedom in Iraq, there are many more Iraqis and Americans working to defeat them. My fellow citizens: Not only can we win the war in Iraq, we are winning the war in Iraq."

"It is also important for every American to understand the consequences of pulling out of Iraq before our work is done. We would abandon our Iraqi friends and signal to the world that America cannot be trusted to keep its word. We would undermine the morale of our troops by betraying the cause for which they have sacrificed. We would cause the tyrants in the Middle East to laugh at our failed resolve, and tighten their repressive grip. We would hand Iraq over to enemies who have pledged to attack us and the global terrorist movement would be emboldened and more dangerous than ever before. To retreat before victory would be an act of recklessness and dishonor, and I will not allow it. "

"I will make decisions on troop levels based on the progress we see on the ground and the advice of our military leaders -- not based on artificial timetables set by politicians in Washington. Our forces in Iraq are on the road to victory -- and that is the road that will take them home."

"I also want to speak to those of you who did not support my decision to send troops to Iraq: I have heard your disagreement, and I know how deeply it is felt. Yet now there are only two options before our country -- victory or defeat. And the need for victory is larger than any president or political party, because the security of our people is in the balance. I don't expect you to support everything I do, but tonight I have a request: Do not give in to despair, and do not give up on this fight for freedom."
"Next week, Americans will gather to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah. Many families will be praying for loved ones spending this season far from home -- in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other dangerous places. Our nation joins in those prayers. We pray for the safety and strength of our troops. We trust, with them, in a love that conquers all fear, in a light that reaches the darkest corners of the Earth. And we remember the words of the Christmas carol, written during the Civil War: "God is not dead, nor [does] He sleep; the Wrong shall fail, the Right prevail, with peace on Earth, goodwill to men."

Well done Mr. President. You have said what needed saying, and it was very inspirational to hear.

Israeli-Arabs rally against Zionism, Israel

Talk about the enemy within:

Reflecting a growing and more open policy among many Arab citizens of Israel, they called for an alignment of Arab organizations in Israel and in the Palestinian Authority (PA).

The gathering in Nazereth Saturday morning was under the banner "responsibility for the historical Nakba," referring to the "tragedy" of the establishment of Israel as a Jewish state. It featured displays of household items and names of Arab villages. Among the participants were the head of the northern chapter of the Islamic Movement and at least one Arab Knesset Member.

MK Azmi Bishara, who was born and lives in Nazereth, encouraged the crowd to keep "burning the coals of the struggle against Zionists." He spoke one day after returning from Lebanon, in violation of government orders against visiting an enemy country.
And how about this:

(IsraelNN.com) Israeli Arab MK Azmi Bishara told a group of students in Lebanon last week that Israel's founding is the greatest act of thievery in the 20th century.

"I will never recognize Zionism, even if all other Arabs do," he said. "I will never concede Palestine. The battle is still long." Bishara spoke about the "1.2 million Palestinians living in Israel," who he said "are like all other Arabs, but with Israeli citizenship forced upon them…We are the original residents of Palestine, not those who came from Poland and Russia."

The Israeli Knesset member then addressed the Jews of Israel, saying, "Return Palestine to us and take your democracy with you. We Arabs are not interested in it."

The moslem population of Israel is now over 20%. There is no possible way that Israel can successfully continue to co-exist with this terrorist entity that still openly refers to the creation of the Jewish State as "nakba" or "great tragedy".

The more one becomes educated on the cold, hard facts about the threat Israel faces from the islamic menace, the more one understands why they must either purge the moslems from the Land of Israel once and for all , or else suffer the inevitable destruction of the Jewish State.

Cindy Sheehan's Excellent Adventure

Red Cindy is now in Spain continuing her official 2005 Quisling Tour. It is her hope to win the "hearts and minds" of Europeans by screaming about how terrible she thinks America and President Bush are for going to war against Iraq.

I think this picture tells us a lot about how well it's been going for her. Mr. President, please do not allow her back in this country.

This from Worldnetdaily:

MADRID, Spain — Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan led a small protest Saturday outside the U.S. Embassy to denounce the war in Iraq.

About 100 protesters carried banners criticizing President Bush.

Sheehan, whose soldier son was killed in Iraq, called Bush a war criminal and said, "Iraq is worse than Vietnam."

It's only worse because Cindy Sheehan is so much uglier than Hanoi Jane was back in the 1960's. Otherwise, we just watched about a 70% turnout for the Iraqi elections in what can only be considered an unqualified and remarkable military success.

I'm still waiting for those Vietnamese elections.

Shabbos Vayishloch

The parsha of Torah we read this week is Vayishloch. This parsha is really loaded, containing the story of Jacob being given the name Israel, his confrontation with his brother Esau (whom he had feared greatly since his youth when he tricked his father, Isaac, into giving him Easu's blessing), the rape of Jacob's daughter Dinah and subsequent massacre of Shecham by Jacob's sons Levi and Simeon, the birth of Benjamin, the death of Rachel, Reuben sleeping with Jacob's mistress, and Isaac's death.

Whew! A lot of info to digest in a quick read, but it sure does cover some interesting points that I will hope to later relate to lessons we find important today.

Good Shabbos!

Morgan Freeman: "Eliminate Black History Month"

Wow, a Hollywood celebrity actually worth praising! Morgan Freeman is fed up with the whole PC, "Black History Month" crap, and for that he deserves our applause.

This from WorldNetDaily:

NEW YORK -- Morgan Freeman says the concept of a month dedicated to black history is "ridiculous." "You're going to relegate my history to a month?" the 68-year-old actor says in an interview on CBS' "60 Minutes" to air Sunday (7 p.m. EST). "I don't want a black history month. Black history is American history."

Freeman notes there is no "white history month," and says the only way to get rid of racism is to "stop talking about it."

The actor says he believes the labels "black" and "white" are an obstacle to beating racism.

"I am going to stop calling you a white man and I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man," Freeman says.

Morgan nails it spot-on. He ought to sit down with Mondesire and company over at the NAACP and set their anglophobic asses straight, too.

Moslems kill Jewish father of 5

Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah Party and Sami Al-Aryan's Islamic Jihad have claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack. This from Arutz Sheva:

Arab terrorists shot at Israeli motorists, killing one and injuring two others, in the southern Hevron Hills region Friday afternoon.

The attack took place 20 miles south of Jerusalem, between Beit Haggai and Har Manoah - a region slated to be left on the Arab side of the Partition Fence. The terrorists opened fire from a vehicle driving in the opposite direction.

The critically-injured 35-year-old male victim, a resident of Beit Haggai and father of five, was transported to Hadassa Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem, where he was pronounced dead.IDF forces have deployed in the region to search for the terrorists.

There have been increasing rock and firebomb attacks in the region in recent weeks. Hevron Hills Mayor Tzviki Bar-Chai called upon Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to order an all-out offensive on terror groups operating in the region.

He blamed Israel's planned facilitation of "safe passage routes" (Arab convoys from Gaza to Judea and Samaria) for the brazen attack. A full closure has been placed on Judea and Samaria and Gaza following the firing of Kassam rockets at Ashkelon Thursday night.

Thanks for making the Jewish people safer, Mr. Sharon. It might as well have been you firing the gunshots that killed this man. The blood stains are upon your hands, traitor.

Perhaps it's time to build another homosexual civic center?

NAACP: "McNabb's an Uncle Tom!"

As if the NAACP wasn't offensive enough, now they call out the Philadelphia Eagles' Donovan McNabb for not being "black enough" because he doesn't run as much as he used to like all good hip-hop QB's should, which naturally makes him a traitor to the hood.

This from CBS Sportsline:
J. Whyatt Mondesire, who publishes a newspaper for blacks and is the president of the Philadelphia branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, recently wrote that the Eagles' star quarterback failed as a team leader and choked in the Super Bowl.

McNabb responded sharply, but Mondesire hasn't changed his stance.

"He doesn't get it," Mondesire said Wednesday. "If he got it, I wouldn't have written the article."

Mondesire, publisher of the Philadelphia Sunday Sun, criticized McNabb in a column in his newspaper on Dec. 4.

He wrote that McNabb's tendency to run the ball early in his career "not only confused defenses, it also thrilled Eagles fans," but that abandoning that element "by claiming that 'everybody expects black quarterbacks to scramble' not only amounts to a breach of faith but also belittles the real struggles of black athletes who've had to overcome real racial stereotypcasting in addition to downright segregation."

Unbelievable. More blacks need to be like T.O. and "keep it real" I guess. WTF. Disband this racist organization already.
