Alito Nomination Angers Socialists

Thank you, George Bush! After watching the putrid selection of the grossly underqualified Harriet Miers blow up in his face, Bush finally wised up and picked an exceptionally qualified candidate who is clearly the staunch judicial constructionist that us conservatives have been demanding.

Known as "Scalito" for his Scalia-like judicial philosophy, Sam Alito offers the real swing vote we need to abolish horrid leftwing rulings permitting partial birth abortion, affirmative action and gay marriage against the will of the voters.

Eminently qualified, Alito graduated from Yale law school, was U.S. attorney for the district of New Jersey, 1987-1990; deputy assistant to the U.S. attorney general, 1985-1987; and assistant to the U.S. solicitor general, 1981-1985, has argued 12 Supreme Court cases as a federal prosecutor, and for the last 15 years served as a Judge on the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.

Predictably, leftist quislings like Ted Kennedy and Charles Schumer have blown a gasket over the Alito nomination.

Said Kennedy without bothering to take qualifications into consideration:

"Rather than selecting a nominee for the good of the nation and the court, President Bush has picked a nominee whom he hopes will stop the massive hemorrhaging of support on his right wing. This is a nomination based on weakness, not strength."

Schumer's reaction was equally radical and unrelated to the suitability of Alito:

"It is sad that the president felt he had to pick a nominee likely to divide America instead of choosing a nominee in the mold of Sandra Day O'Connor, who would unify us. This controversial nominee, who would make the court less diverse and far more conservative, will get very careful scrutiny from the Senate and from the American people."

If it's bad for Schumer and bad for Kennedy then it must be good for America. Sam Alito, you have earned the Madzionist's endorsement for the Supreme Court.

Back From The Eye of the Storm

Sorry for not having posted in a week, but The Madman was in the center of Wilma's wrath and without power. Not to fear, the Mad family is well and with power once again, so you can expect my normal daily postings to begin tomorrow.

Quick political rundown:

*Good riddance to Supreme Court candidate Miers. How about a qualified conservative, Mr. Bush?

*Big vote in the Knesset coming Monday. If Sharon doesn't get his appointments approved in this vote it's time for new elections! Let us pray for this sorry government of appeasement to fall at last.

*Plamegate: Dems take a big loss as only Scooter Libby gets indicted.

*White Sox win a world series finally. Now that the Red Sox and White Sox have broken their jinxes, anyone taking bets on the Cubs winning it all next year?

Cowardice at the Temple Mount

Why is the tail wagging the dog in Israel? At the Temple Mount, which is the holiest of holy Jewish sites, the Israeli government continues to bow in unabashed dhimmitude to the vile moslems.

This from IsraelNationalNews:

The Supreme Court has ordered a change to its ruling allowing Jews to pray on the Temple Mount on the Sukkot holiday. The Jews may visit, but not pray there. A ruling had been issued allowing members of the Temple Mount Faithful to ascend to Judaism's holiest site and pray there during the weeklong Sukkot holiday.

The ruling went a step further than previous rulings of this type, and permitted the Jews to actually pray there - until it was noticed by the alert State representatives. The Moslem Waqf, which controls the holy site's day-to-day operations, has long objected to Jewish prayer at the site. Israel's police, government and courts, unwilling to take a chance of violence breaking out, have gone along with the Waqf's dictates.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

What's the point of fighting to have a Jewish State when the Temple Mount is considered expendable? How the Supreme Court of the Jewish State can voluntarily cede control of this cite to moslems out of fear of reprisal makes one wonder what it's all about anyhow? Is it just about keeping all the trendy shops and restaurants in Tel Aviv?

Something is very, very wrong with this picture.

Bush Sucks Up To Abbas

In a display worthy of a vomit bag, President Bush showered Fatah terrorist organization chief Mahmoud Abbas with gushing ass-kisses at a White House rose garden press conference yesterday. A more pitiful act of dhimmitude would be difficult to imagine, so I have decided to share with you some of the more nauseating moments of this disturbing spectacle.

WARNING: the following could cause terrible wretching. Please read with caution.

Bush: "President Abbas is a man devoted to peace and to his people's aspirations for a state of their own. And today the Palestinian people are closer to realizing those aspirations."

MZ Reaction: Pardon me? This man heads an organization whose charter calls for the eradication of the State of Israel. Any "state of their own" that they are closer realizing is the one that will come once the Jews are thrown into the sea so that a moslem nation can be created in its place.

Bush: "Israel's withdrawal from Gaza and parts of West Bank was a bold decision, with historic significance. President Abbas and the Palestinian Authority contributed to the success of the withdrawal in significant ways. Mr. President, thank you."

MZ Reaction: The way Abbas contributed to Israel's withdrawal from Gaza was using terrorism to scare Ariel Sharon into expelling the Jews and handing the Land over to the Arabs. Since the expulsion, Abbas has publicly praised the jihadi martyrs and Yassir Arafat for making the Israeli retreat possible, called for them to continue their efforts, and facilitated massive weapons smuggling into New Judenrein Gaza from Egypt.

Bush: "Now, Mr. President, you ran on a platform of peace. That's why the people voted for you. I strongly support your rejection of terror and your commitment to what you have called one authority, one law, and one gun."

MZ Reaction: "A platform of peace", huh. What BULL SH-T! Abbas ran on the terrorist accomplishments of his Al-Aqhsa Martyrs Brigade, and still finds himself in trouble politically because Hamas has managed to out Jew-kill them. Last week, Abbas had the Al-Aqhsa Martyrs kill three Jewish civilians in a drive by shooting to try propping up his political support before coming to Washington.

Bush: "The way forward must include rebuilding the Palestinian economy. This goal has the support of the Quartet: the United States, the United Nations, the European Union, and Russia."

MZ Reaction: Translation: "We will continue to fund terrorism by throwing hundreds of millions of dollars at Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad."

Bush: "The way forward must continue to include democratic elections. The upcoming elections for the Palestinian Legislative Council offer an opportunity to open the door to the next generation of Palestinian leaders. They'll be responsible for building a peaceful and hopeful future for their country."

MZ Reaction: The upcoming elections are between candidates from Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad. All three "parties" are running for office promising the destruction of Israel and the creation of a moslem state. That it is also written in all three of their charters makes me sure we can trust they will be "building a peaceful and hopeful future" for the Jewish State. Next, we'll see Bin Laden being praised at the White House and told Al Qaida is part of "building a peaceful and hopeful future" for America.

Bush: "Israel should not undertake any activity that contravenes its road map obligations, or prejudices the final status negotiations with regard to Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. This means that Israel must remove unauthorized posts and stop settlement expansion."

MZ Reaction: Of course! Israel must concede more land and expel more Jews! That's always the best way to gain peace with the terrorists. TWO - FOUR - SIX - EIGHT, THE JEWS MUST CAPITULATE!

Bush: "I appreciate your service, Mr. President. I assured him that the United States will use our influence to help realize a shared vision of two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living side-by-side in peace and security."

MZ Reaction: Well, that seems reasonable. One state, Israel, will be located in the Mediterranean Sea, while the other, Palestine-Jordan, will be located in all the land west of the Jordan River. Nice job, Mr. President.

Expelled then Disengaged

OK, now I finally get what Yassir Sharon really meant by his Gaza disengagement plan. First, expel the Jews from Gaza, THEN disengage the evictees from Israel once it's done.

According to a report from Israel National News, the sad reality for the evictees is that most have been left homeless and wandering since the State of Israel turned its military upon them to appease the Arabs two months ago.

"No democratic country should ever abandon its citizens like this," stated MK Dr. Uzi Landau on Wednesday after viewing the conditions of Jews expelled from Gush Katif and northern Samaria.

Left to live in horrible makeshift tent cities and eating in soup kitchens, these once successful, hard working Jews have cried out to the government that's abandoned them for the financial assistance they had been promised. To date, there is no indication of when or if that aid will be made available.

Said Landau, "There was a disengagement, and there are now ten thousand people here who need to be taken care of." He added that it was time to demand a more humane response from the Prime Minister's Office, and that he hoped the issue would also stir the members of the Knesset and the general public. "Let's put the politics to one side and just help the evictees."

Now, if another nation's leader hated Jews and hated Israel enough to do something like this the outpouring of support for these Jews, and condemnation of the government responsible for their plight, would be overwhelming from the American Jewish community. Yet, the silence is deafening.

So, the question that begs to be asked is this: Why is the Jewish communal world not screaming for social justice? How come there are no statements at all from our great, charitable, do-gooder organizations on the evictees behalf?

The answer is pure politics. The liberal Jewish establishment is only interested in supporting the plight of LIBERAL Jews, and since the "settlers" were viewed as right wingers they are coldly left to suffer without a single finger being lifted in their defense.

Save the whales? Great, liberal Jewish America sends the check. A militant homosexual cause that needs extra funding? You got it! A check is on the way! Someone tried to put up a menorah in a public square? Send in the big bucks to make them take it down!

But, about 10,000 mostly observant Jews are forcibly left homeless and hungry by military force, and then denied their promised financial aid to boot? Let them eat cake!

A disgraceful shondah, indeed.

BTW, if you care to donate to the needy evictees, please go to One Israel Fund

Thanks,

3 Jews dead 5 wounded in Fatah Terror Attack

The bloodletting continues in the "Palestinian" jihad to exterminate the Jews and the State of Israel. Despite Yassir Sharon's Gaza capitulation, and his recent decision to release hundreds of convicted terrorists from Israeli jails to appease the Arabs, Fatah Party chairman Mahmoud Abbas continues to oversee terrorist attacks against the Jews in Judea/Samaria.

The latest attacks on Sunday left 3 Jews dead and 5 more hospitalized from a drive-by shooting executed by the Fatah Party's Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades.

The names of the dead:

*Oz Ben-Meir, a 9th-grade student in the Yeshiva High School.
*Matat Adler, 21, who was married just 3 months ago, and her cousin...
*Kineret Mandel, 23, who was the first girl born in Carmel after her parents had been evicted from the Sinai in the peace concession with Egypt.

Forcing an intimidated Ariel Sharon to expel the Jews from the West Bank via terrorism is the strategy Mr. Abbas and his ruling Fatah Party have chosen - just as they did with the help of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza.

The Arab watchdog site, IMRA, reports that the Voice of Palestine Radio, the official voice of Mahmoud Abbas's Palestinian Authority, declared Sunday night that the attacks on Israelis were carried out by members of the Fatah organization headed by PLO leader Mahmoud Abbas.

In response, Israel has temporarily suspended some "Palestinian" private vehicle movement in the West Bank, and also suspended for the time being further terrorist prisoner releases. These measures are widely seen as a token effort at best to quiet angry critics of Prime Minister Sharon's continued concessions and "good will gestures" to the terrorist moslems.

Unfortunately, there is no stopping the Sharon capitulation machine from bowing to further "Palestinian" demands in the wake of his Likud Central Committee referendum victory that guaranteed his coalition with the anti-Zionist Labor/Meretz Parties will continue until next April's general elections.

G'mar Chatima Tova

I wish for all of my family, friends and bloggers that you will be granted forgiveness and be sealed in God's book of life on Yom Kippur. If you happen to be fasting this year, may you have an easy fast (and a delicious break fast!). I'd also like to say that if I may have inadvertently hurt or offended any of you this past year (and knowing me, that's a distinct possibility) may I offer my sincerest apologies and ask for your forgiveness.

Be well, and may the coming year bring much simchas and nachas for us all!

Kumbaya and Mazal Tov

Sometimes you read something that just makes you stop, shake your head, and wonder what in the hell is happening with the world. Today was one of those moments, as I read about the latest abomination out of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Berkley.

According to a report in today's JTA from Sue Fishkoff, apparantly only 22% of the Jews in the bay area are affiliated with a synagogue. The other 78% seem to have completely lost their minds.

Here are some juicy excerpts of liberalism run amok for your entertainment pleasure.

"Sam Sontag’s parents wanted him to have a bar mitzvah, but they aren’t religious and felt it would be hypocritical to join a congregation. Shalva Sorani is active in her Berkeley, Calif., congregation, but when she faced a mastectomy her friends wanted a female rabbi to lead their all-women healing circle.

These are some of the people served by Rachel Brodie and Julie Batz, founders and co-directors of The Ritualist, a Bay Area-based nonprofit that researches and supports independent Jewish life-cycle rituals. "

ALL WOMEN HEALING CIRCLE? Well, is it time for group vomiting to the tune of kumbaya yet? No... you need more, you say?

OK, here's more:

"'It’s a growing trend nationwide,' Brodie says. A Jewish educator who holds a master’s degree from the Conservative movement’s Jewish Theological Seminary, Brodie says people began asking her to do their Jewish ceremonies almost a decade ago. The phenomenon is going on especially in the San Francisco Bay Area, a region with particularly low affiliation rates."

Look, if the Conservative movement has fallen this far under the spell of liberalism I can see why they are losing membership nationwide. Perhaps she's just a renegade "Rabbi" who's not representative of Conservative Judaism, but who the hell knows anymore?

And lastly:

"As the two women built up their database of facilitators, and as more Jews heard of their work and started contacting them, they found themselves providing a personal referral service. Some, says Batz,”are on the margins of the Jewish community,” often because they’re interracial or interfaith couples, or are gay or lesbian. They want to mark life-cycle events Jewishly, but don’t feel comfortable in traditional congregations."

OK, what the hell is this "life cycle event" crap? I'm guessing it's the first time a man puts on a dress. The first time one has sex with a donkey. The first time one tries heroin. We certainly need to have a Jewish experience for all those special Kodak moments, so everybody get ready...

And a one.
And a two.
And a three.

Kumbaya and mazal tov and mazal tov and kumbaya - PUUUKKE ... HEEAAVE ... BAARRFF!!

Such simchas, such nachas, I'm just kvelling.

A Little Reminder

Just a little reminder for you folks of exactly what the Fatah Party, led by Mahmoud Abbas, is really all about.

With all the mind numbing capitulations and concessions delivered from Ariel Sharon to Mr. Abbas, including, but not limited to, giving his outspoken support for the Fatah Party over Hamas in the "Palestinian" elections, acquiescing to Abbas' demands to release thousands of moslem terrorists from Israeli prisons, eradicating Jewish Gaza at Abbas' behest, and the targeted killings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad leadership while protecting Mahmoud Abbas and his Al Ahqsa Brigades, one gets the impression that the Fatah Party must be a real peace partner looking for a cozy state of their own side-by-side with Israel.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Look at this from the Fatah charter:

Article 9: Armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine.

Article 15: It is a national duty to repulse the Zionist imperialist invasion from the great Arab homeland and to purge the Zionist presence from Palestine.

Article 22: The liberation of Palestine will liquidate the Zionist and imperialist presence and bring about the stabilization of peace in the Middle East.

Liquidate the Zionists? Can you imagine if Israel had a constitution which called for the total liquidation of the Arabs? I bet the EU would love that.

Truth be told, Abbas and Fatah are interested in one thing and one thing only: the total annihilation of the Jewish State and genocide of the Jewish people. No amount of "good will gestures" or "Land for Peace" concessions will change this fact.

And don't forget it.

Surprise! More Good Will Gestures

Only the most dimwitted of dullards didn't see that the Gaza expulsion would lead to many more concessions, capitulations, retreats and myriads of other "good will gestures" designed to appease the frothing, primitive moslem masses.

The next act of dhimmitude? RELEASE MORE TERRORISTS FROM PRISON!

From Arutz Sheva News: A "good will" offer to free more Arab prisoners, in addition to the 900 already released, was confirmed by Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, who also heads the Committee on Prisoner Release. Ra'anan Gissin, spokesman for Sharon, remarked, "We are ready to provide Abu Mazen [Abbas] with gestures, but it requires Abu Mazen to help himself."

Yes, this time Sharon really, really, really, really means no more terrorism against Israel. Any more Kassam rockets launched into Jewish communities in Israel and he may just have to unilaterally throw the Jews into the sea!

MZ's Political Quiz

Think you're a political know it all? If so, then let's see how you score on a little quiz. Can you match the political party to the quote about Supreme Court nominee, Harriet Miers? Bonus: Name the political figure responsible for the quote. (correct answers below)

1). "I need to know a lot more about her, her experience and her level of competence and what is her philosophy. I really don't know this lady and I do think I owe it to my constituents and to my own conscience to do due diligence and find out actually who this person is."

a. Republican
b. Democrat

2). "I don't just automatically salute or take a deep bow anytime a nominee is sent up. I have to find out who these people are, and right now, I'm not satisfied with what I know. I'm not comfortable with the nomination, so we'll just have to work through the process in due time."

a. Republican
b. Democrat

3). "There are a lot more people – men, women and minorities – that are more qualified in my opinion by their experience than she is."

a. Republican
b. Democrat

4). “I like Harriet Miers...I am also impressed with the fact that she was a trailblazer for women as managing partner of a major Dallas law firm and as the first woman president of the Texas Bar Association. In my view, the Supreme Court would benefit from the addition of a justice who has real experience as a practicing lawyer."

a. Republican
b. Democrat

Bush Nominates Miers for High Court

Well, what do we think, gang? My early impression of Bush's choice for the Supreme Court vacancy is "blecchhh". In addition to being 60yrs old but looking 81, Mz. Miers has very little on her resume to justify her nomination to the High Court bench. She has never been a judge, has not argued cases before the Supreme Court, had been championed as a nominee to President Bush by radical leftist leader, Harry Reid, and, worst of all, donated money to the presidential campaign of Al Gore back in '87 and the DNC in '88.

To me, it seems like Bush sold out his base in an effort to get a pat on the back from his liberal opponents in the Democrat Party. Apparently, I'm not alone in my opinion.

Said Bill Krystal on Fox News: "It looks like he flinched. It looks like a capitulation."

Look, the reason Bush was elected is that he got a huge turnout from social conservatives who did not want a leftist Supreme Court to legislate the Democrat Party's agenda from the bench. Well, it appears that the worst fears have been realized, as Bush appears to have nominated a candidate more like Souter than Scalia.

John Roberts was considered a fabulous choice by almost everybody because of his brilliance, his incredible success as an attorney arguing before the Supreme Court, and his solid Rhendquist pedigree of conservative ideology. Even the Dems were impressed by the guy, accept for extreme leftists like Biden, Boxer, Kennedy, Kerry, et.al.

But what gives with this hag?

Not qualified, not conservative, and not a good pick, Georgey boy. You really blew it.

L'Shana Tova!
