Colorado school bans U.S. Flag

We have now reached a point in America where political correctness rules all. It seems a high school in Colorado is banning the American flag for what they are calling "misguided patriotism".

Said Skyline High School principal Tom Stumpf, "When it involves the American flag and its abuse in vilifying other people, we simply will not tolerate it. They were using the symbol derisively as misguided patriotism."

It seems everyone was not on board with this asinine, anti-America policy. There was a large student protest just off school property where American flags were being waved and angry voices were loudly making themselves heard.

"People are taking it to a whole other level," said Laura Avitia. "I don't think they know why we were protesting."

The principal should be fired on the spot. This is a disgrace.

Colorado seems to have many radicals in its education system. Ward Churchill, Jay Bennish, and now this guy. None have been disiplined at all. I guess the princpal will be happy when Colorado is returned to Mexico.
In a way, I am happy to see a group of Americans who proudly wave the flag and show appreciation for their country.

Bob, the left has overstepped their bounds on this one. There will most certainly be a nationwide backlash against this quisling principal.

thanks for bringing this to us first madze - this is the first i've heard of this. seems you and autonomist are on top of it all. a nose for the news is a handy thing to have. this would not happen in the south - at least not the south where i live.

Nanc, all it takes is one dumbass liberal principal and it can happen anywhere. Granted, such a principal would have some serious trouble if he tried it anywhere near the Ozarks.

Hot or sweet peppers?

both - habaneros our favorite. of course we eat them all and have found if we prune them back after the first frost to about six inches - in most cases they come back with thick trunks like roses. i'm all about propagation. we love gardening.

liberal dumbass = redundancy

Taz, the guy is about to become public enemy #1. If he gets the hell beat out of him, great, but the beating he's about to take nationwide will really be a sight to see.

I agree with everyone. This guy was not thinking right. However, the law states a principal has the right to do whatever he feels is justified to keep control on his campus. I am a longitme educator and please don't think I am siding with this guy. I AM NOT!!! He made a stupid move! He could have come up with a better way to deal with this problem.

You know he is going to feel heat about this one. People in the community are going to react to this. When they do, he will have more problems than he has now.

I have posted my views on this topic on my blog "Texas Truth" at http://texastruth.blogspot.com. Stop by and leave your views on this topic and others.

Nanc: I'm boycotting Mexican food, so I won't ask for any habaneros.

I heard this story late last week and it just heaps more evidence on the pile about the problem in education.

Of course we had that Principal in Texas who put the Mexican flag flying just below the U.S. flag on school property to show solidarity with Hispanic students.

The stupidity of multiculturalism and cultural sensitivity is sinking this nation into Balkanization of ethnic groups.

The public education system was intended to assimilate and acculturate students from many different backgrounds.

Schools no longer perform that vital service, hence the divisons which this story so clearly illustrates.

What do you want to bet that the students who dared to display the American flag will be forced into some politically correct multicultural brain washing. No doubt conducted by a socialist America hater like that clown Bennish.

The principal banned anything that could be construed as "patriotic."

He didn't ban Mexican flags. Far from it.

He should be beaten to an unrecognizable pulp.

This multiculti treasonous fool should be shipped to one of those banlieus in Paris, where they have those warm, fuzzy, burn-the-neighbourhood-cars get-togethers. But don't hold your breath for any patriotic outrage - most Americans seem to be transforming into weak ninnies wearing pink lace - otherwise, the news report would have read "principal beaten up after banning flag" etc.

Ever since I was a kid I thought that principals were like prison wardens.

Now I think its more like a gulag.
